Sick Day and a Book

My poor son has been holed up in the bathroom for the last 45 minutes with difficulties on both ends. My daughter was up all night with the same. I've been laundering sheets, towels, carpets, mattresses, etc. in the wee hours. I'm hoping it's short-lived, but it's definitely viral and not food poisoning -- they both have had a fever and my husband and I are unaffected (so far). My dad, who claims not to have thrown up in 55 years, has done so three times this morning. Prayers for eradicating the bug are requested! I would hate for this to continue through Comet's birthday Wednesday.

In the meantime, I don't have time right now to do a full Books In Progress post, but my current book club book is Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. It's kind of dark and seedy right now, but very compelling. It's about a man who was a vet, sort of, for a tenth-tier circus in the early 20th century.
