He Was There All the Time...

Even this early in your reading, you're nodding - aren't you?! Because you just know who "He" is. And, like me, you "know" He's there. Right? Right.

Of course, there are times when "He" seems elusive, withdrawn, and all too trusting of our own faith in Him. Are you confused yet? Allow me to explain.

I've loved this site since I found it. I enjoy blogging and feeling the warm, cozy "atmosphere" of kindred spirits. But something happened in our lives that was so very difficult to entrust to the Master that I stopped writing altogether. Stopped creating. Stopped laughing. Had thoughts of stopping being. You see, our son was injured by another - a teenager who didn't resist when his sin nature came calling. The price was our child's innocence. And though I thought I had healed, I couldn't see "Him" nearby. Couldn't see how He could possibly be working in our lives.

Life got easier, smiling became less rare and one day recently I stopped by my blog. It was at that moment I noticed something. Look at the header closely. I'm a graphic designer and created it to look like flannel. I liked it enough that  just felt it was done. It's not beautiful by any stretch, but it just seemed so complete. Now look at the avatar (about me) picture. As you can see, it is nothing more than a snippet from the header. Do you see it? Can you see the face? I didn't put it there. Really, I didn't. I just noticed it - plain as day. There's that face. It was there all the time. I just didn't see it.

I decided to check yours out. I see Him. I am very moved by your last three posts, but mostly the last, I know how hard it is to walk through things without realizing He is there. It is amazing how God will often use a small thing to remind you... for me it was the momentary gaze of my neighbor's dog... nothing that would mean anything to anyone else, but at that time meant everything to me. My heart aches for what you have been through and I rejoice with you in your moment of realization that He is.

God Bless,

I love new visitors! I notice you've too have had lapses in your blogging, too. Isn't it hard to be consistent? I am always amazed by the women on here with numbers of kids and daily posts. What a surprise in your graphic.

I saw it the moment I opened your site...before I even read your post! He promises to never leave or forsake us and sometimes shows Himself in very mysterious ways.

I am so very sorry for your tragedy. Hold to God's promise that He is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. My dh is diabetic as well. I hope you enjoy the cappuccino.

Blessings,

Angela

Cool picture! I love it when things like that happen and remind of us of our Lord. My sons asked me one time why God speaks in code. I told them, because then it would be too easy if He didn't. We are wired for a challenge and I thank God for that daily! :)

I pray that your circumstances give you just that, a challenge. I pray that God will show you what it is exactly that you are to overcome AND how it will glorify Him and make YOU stronger in the Lord.

Wow! You're right! That's pretty neat! Well, it was nice to have you by my blog. You're right, He is there all the time. Through a miscarriage and the loss of two Grandparents, and some friends recently, I have truly come to know the truth of Him being there. Such comfort, mercy, and grace are ours through a walk and faith in Him.
