9/9/2006 Yard Sale Finds

Yard Sale Finds
So, today I went yard saling with Mary.  The Great Wild Wildebeest stayed home with Daddy and slept in until 9:00AM!   Since he *never* sleeps past 6:30am this was quite the event.

We've decided to get Nathan a train table for either Christmas or his birthday.  But, the train table are just huge and take up so much space…  So, we've decided to buy just the table board with the painted scene on it and attach it to a piece of plywood, put on come shoe moulding around the edge and caster wheels on the bottom.  It will be low to the ground so it can slide under his bed for storage.   While we were snootching around at the yard sales today, Mary and I found this:

It's a two-sided Brio table top board which usually retails for $60-$75.  My price?? $7.00  I just love a good deal!   And that means more money to spend on trains and tracks and tunnels and all that fun stuff.

We also found a Step 2 Coupe Car, retails for $60.00 for $5.00.

Wait till you see the coat and hat set I bought Mary at a consignment sale last night.  I'll have to figure out how to post pictures first.

Cute Kid Sayings Lately:
1. Mary's version of “bread”:  “Bled”

2. Nathan's reaction to Daddy's choice of breakfast items: “I like it, Daddy! POPTARTS!  Yeeeaaah, Poptarts!”

3. Mary and Nathan call macaroni and cheese, “Monkey Cheese”

4. Mary's wisdom for Nathan:
Scenario: The night before Mary had a showdown with Mommy over eating her dinner- MeMa (My Mom) told Mary that if she would eat her dinner she could have a cookie.  Of course, Mary choose to eat dinner and get the cookie.
Next Day: Nathan decides to follow MM's example from the evening before and have a showdown over eating his “looonch” (lunch).

So Mary wisely says:
“Go ahead Nay-Nay, eat more monkey cheese, get more cookie!”

Cooking with your coffee maker?????????
This is to funny- check out this site:

Surely, this *had* to be the idea of hungry college guys or batchelors…
ETA: I don't know why the link isn't working but you can copy and paste it into your address line- I cannot imagine anything made in a coffee machine would taste good.  Don't you think it would all taste faintly of coffee???
