I remember that I once (or many times) said fall was not my favorite season. But today was definitely a lovely day!
It was crisp and cool this morning. Jason got up early early with the big kids and took them to the lake to see the sun rise. No, this was not cruel and unusual punishment; although, I would have probably considered it such if I had to go. They really wanted to go, and in fact, Kathryne had picked it as an enrichment activity for her literature unit.
When they got back, and I got up and moving, we went to the mall with my mom. There was a small fall craft show at the mall, and Grandmama got some fall clothes for the kids and for me. We ate lunch and had cookies at the mall.
When we came home, Jason had been working hard outside all day. The yard was looking great. After a short rest, I sorted through all the clothes (once again), assimilated the new clothes, and started on piles for a planned yard sale next week.
Then I joined Jason and the kids who were back outside where we cleaned up some more, picnicked, and played kick ball.
Jason got lots of burning done.

We've got a huge wood pile for the winter.

He took down, cleaned and stored the pool, leaving a huge sand pit for the kiddos.

We picnicked outside.

The kids began enjoying the sand pit.

And we had a rousing game of kickball.

It was a beautiful fall day!

How I would love to be able to burn wood again. I loved our wood burning fireplace at our last home, but in our current place the fireplaces aren't useable :(
Your family looks like they're having a wonderful time.
