We had a yard sale today at the Courtney household. In all the years since we have had children, I have been keeping ALL their clothing. Some of it I have reused with the girls, but much of it has never been reworn. Even though we have three girls, the seasons were off when they were baby sizes, and once they got a little bigger, we had other people giving us hand me down clothes.
So, when I decided we should go through them, we took the bins down from the attic last weekend and I ended up with 30 bins! I have spent all week going through each one and also going through all our closets and bookshelves and school room shelves. It was a busy week. We took the week off of school, and I also used this time to do fall quarterly cleaning.
The day dawned clear and sunny. We had a steady flow of people and made a decent amount of money but still had bins and bins of clothes. I took lots of stuff to Goodwill, and we still have one more load that wouldn't fit in the van. I was determined NOT to keep any more and bring it back in the house.
Kathryne and Charles ran a bake sale and made enough to buy Webkinz. That was the highlight of their day.
All in all, it was good to get it all cleaned out. I do not like yard sales, and I hope I don't have to do another one for quite a while!
