You know you're tired when...
Posted in Day in the Life

The boys were pillow fighting on MY bed this morning waiting for me to finish my morning {e'hem} research. Big DS1 hit little DS3. DS3 tumbled off the bed backwards and bumped his head. As DS3 lay crying, no it was wailing, on the floor beside the bed, DD & I went to investigate. She was odoriferous.  I wasn't.

I dispatched DS1 to go get ice & arnica gel for DS3's bump since it was 1's 'fatal blow' in which 3 was clobbered by in the first place. I had instructed them to settle down a bit not 45 seconds before... I also dispatched DS2 to get a diaper & wipes for DD and her odor issue.

1 & 2 scattered. 3 stood up and decided he'd probably live. We raise 'em tough around here. DD just gave all the pre-trained motherly support she could. She rubbed 3's arm and said, "Taw'ry." 2 came back with needed supplies for previously noticed OdorChild. On autopilot, I picked up child and began to apply odor remedy while I waited for 1 to return.

"Mommy!" in a voice that was wildly out of character for my children, exclaimed DS3. It was then I notice it was DS3 I was trying to diaper. "I don't need a diaper!!!" and he started laughing like crazy. OOOOPS! Sorry, wrong kid. DS2 nearly split his seems laughing. I don't think I've ever seem him laugh so much.

I've never been that absent minded. I guess I haven't ever been tired enough. Well, as long as I'm only making little mistakes like that, I should be ok.

P.S. Princess did get her diaper changed.

Glitter Glitter Everywhere
Posted in Day in the Life

Although you can't see it in the picture, my darling daughter got into glitter and it's all her sweet little face. That would be lipstick on her forehead as well. She was proud as punch she looked so 'beautiful'. I still struggle in moments like that to know if I should scold or laugh. I compromised: I told her she looked gorgeous and not to do it again. Ahh diplomacy!

My Profile

The Principle Approach has been called "reflective teaching and learning." It is America's historic method of Biblical reasoning which places the Truths (or principles) of God's Word at the heart of education. Each subject is predicated upon God's Biblical principles and students are taught to think and reason from principles and leading ideas using The Notebook Approach to Research, Reason, Relate, and Record.
