May. 29, 2008 - How many words are there for tired?!
I am sooo tired! Today I was volunteering at a therapeutic riding center, and I was a side- walker, which is the person who walks beside the horse holding on to the rider's ankle or thigh. Being a side walker for 45 minutes is tiring, not only physically, but mentally as well. The mental part is because you have been privileged with a BIG responsibility. You have to reinforce what the leader asks the rider to do, but you can't do it too soon, because then the rider would not be thinking for themselves, which is part of the therapy. You also have to watch for seizures, off-balance position, and overall keep the rider secure and safe. Besides that, you have to keep up with a horse. Very tiring, but very rewarding as well.
We had a tree taken down today. We decided to have it removed when we found out that our neighbors were having some of theirs removed because one had been struck by lightening in a recent storm. The crack in the tree was HUGE; probably at least 12 feet long. I know this post is fairly short, but I am so drained I do not think I can post any more without falling over into a deep sleep. ZzZzZz.....

Wow.
Well, right now I am exausted, but not from serving others, but going to bed to late getting up to early, and yesterday our homeschool friends and us went to Hershey Park, in PA, and riding every major rollercoaster, and the scarriest 10 times! While there for 7 hours living on a pepsi, a slice of pizza, and ardreniline! We litterally ran and road rollercoasters for 7 hours straight..... Then today, got up did bible studies with my dad and brothers went to PT and the weightroom that our homeschool group uses. Struggled through just about everything all day....
Well, ttyl bye

I'm glad you got to volunteer today. You're right - it is a big responsibility. I'm pleased you're taking it seriously. I'm sure the riders benefit tremendously from having volunteers like you there. It's worthwhile work and hopefully a good kind of tired. Get some rest and have sweet dreams! Much love, Aunt Sharon
