The Wonderful Life of a Tuper
Jun. 30, 2008
I'm back!!

Hi all! I am back from a fantastic week at Snowbird!! Click here to see SWO's website.

Top ten things I liked about camp:

  1. Food
  2. Counselors
  3. Prayer Chapel
  4. Getting to know my brothers and sisters in Christ better
  5. Rafting on the Nantahala (pronounced nanuhaylu)
  6. The creek
  7. The Revelation skit
  8. Growing closer to Christ
  9. Learning what it means to be a Christian
  10. Having fellowship with other believers

Things I'll do differently next time:

  • Bring a canteen for water to brush my teeth with
  • NOT go on the three-man swing
  • Bring snacks
  • Bring sunglasses
  • Bring LOTS of extra clothes
  • Bring spare blankets
  • Shower more than twice
  • OK, skip that last one. It was kinda fun being dirty(although momma thought it was gross)
  • Bring a board game for idle time
  • Go on the Goliath swing
  • Go rappelling
  • Maybe go caving
  • Find somewhere to hang out my wet clothes
I might post more details about Snowbird later, but right now I am REALLY tired, so, in all probability, nothing I said would make  much sense at all. Hope you all had a great week!!

Jul. 1, 2008 - we missed you

Posted by AuntSharon

It's good to have you back. I've been checking for a camp update since Saturday. I checked twice yesterday and missed your post.

It sounds like you had a good time at camp even though you were cold, hungry, and dirty there. I have to agree with your mom that only two showers in one week is a little gross. I suppose you figured that getting soaked in the creek counted as a cleansing experience. It probably washed away some dirt. Maybe you were just too busy to take time out to shower. It sounds like they had a lot of activities there. That's the way to guarantee having happy campers.

I notice you didn't mention cute boys as one of your favorite things about camp. (That could explain your lack of effort in the showering department, as well.)

Next year you'll have a little more prep. time and a year of camp experience under your belt, so I'm sure you'll take everything you need and then some. And your little brother can benefit from your experience if he goes to camp, too.

I'm thrilled that you got to go to camp, I'm pleased that you had a good time, and I'm glad you're home safe and sound. Take care! Much love, Aunt Sharon

Jul. 1, 2008 - Camping

All of her "cabineering" experience paid off - though this was a tad bit more "rustic" than usual. Rule #1 was that no one was allowed to die while at the camp. Way to go Tuper - you obeyed rule #1. Rule #2 was no "touchy touchy" with the boys - i think the lack of showering took care of that - so way to go again Tuper. Play board games the whole time next year and you won't need as many clothes and you won't need to dry them. Please don't go "caving" next year - i beg you.
Glad you're back!
Love,
Daddy
