The Wonderful Life of a Tuper

Jul. 18, 2008 - Did I mention my dislike of titles?

Hi all! Sorry I haven't posted in FOREVER.

I now have a job. I exercise a Tennessee Walking horse mare named Lily every day for around an hour. Today I took her out for a ride in the front pasture. On one of our laps around, a small rabbit jumped out from underneath her feet. She just kept walking, but I was a bit startled so I had her stop to see what it was. Just a cute little brown bunny.

As I started to post this, mom and dad noticed the neighbor's evil master-mind dog in our backyard. He just ran back towards his house, but Kodiak was going nutso over a strange dog in HIS yard.

Tonight we are having company over for dinner. We haven't seen them in a long time, so I am looking forward to it.

My beloved father keeps bugging me to say that I watched "We Are Marshall," "The Fellowship of the Ring," and "The Two Towers." There. I told you, so now dad can stop bugging:^)

Hope you all have a great day!!

Type a tidbit for the tuper!!

I'm glad you posted. I missed reading your updates. How is the clicker training going? Is your job exercising the horse at the therapeutic riding center? It sounds like a great job for someone who loves horses.

I saw "We Are Marshall" at the theater when it first came out. I only cried once every 39 seconds. Did it have that effect on you? I can't say I enjoyed that movie. It was just too sad.

If you watched the first two LOTR movies you have to watch the third one. You have to see Samwise Gamgee being a real hero and persevering in desperate times. You have to see the eagles doing their part. You have to see the happy ending that is nowhere evident in the first two movies. The battles in all three movies are depressing, graphic, violent, and gross. You deserve to see a happy ending after enduring all that.

Speaking of depressing battles, did you see the movie "Prince Caspian"? The first battle was so devastatingly sad, I wasn't sure I could watch the rest of the movie. But things got better and it turned out all right. I know Patrick likes sword fighting and there are lots of those scenes in the movie. And Edmond is the sensible one! Can you believe it? It makes you proud to see how much he matured after "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" - the first movie.

Uncle Dave and I saw "Journey to the Center of the Earth" last weekend. We liked it. Lots of action, happy ending, set up for a sequel - my kind of movie! Neither of us had read the book before, so after the movie we stopped at Half Price Books and bought a copy (for $1.00) - my kind of book store. I haven't read it yet, but I will.

Tomorrow I am meeting Aunt Karen and Mamaw in the morning. We are going to eat at Waffle House, and then go shopping. It should be a fun day. On Sunday, Uncle Dave and I might go to the National Hamburger Festival in Akron. It depends on the weather - it has been extremely hot and muggy here.

I hope you all have a good weekend! Take care! Much love, Aunt Sharon

Jul. 19, 2008 - LOL LOTR

Thanks for posting Tuper - great job on your first job and first ever pay check. Tuper's quote to me was "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" - wise words young-un'!

Dearest Aunts Sharon and Karen - we have invested 6 long hours watching these stinkin' LOTR movies and still no ending - and that's supposed to make me want to watch MORE. I don't think so - life is too short. Ok - maybe we do want to know how it ends - beats readin' the books - I never could read those things. Patch and I were actually looking for "Back to the Future" when we ended up with those movies. Can you believe our movie store doesn't have BTTF?

I still like to watch "We are Marshall" even though it is sad. I think another good season this year would be good though! Go Herd!

Love to all,
Daddy
