My Wonderful Life

Jul. 30, 2008 -

Today I blanched 39 ears of corn. And later I'll blanche White Mountain Half Runner string beans. If you're wondering, we didn't grow any of this ourselves. They were given to us. Later this week I'll probably blanche some tomatoes, too, if mom wants me to. Although blanching is hot work, it isn't too hard. I accidentally blanched my foot, too. I was pulling and ear of corn out of the water and some of the water splattered neatly onto the top of my foot. Mega ouwy. Speaking of pain, has anyone reading this ever been smacked in the collar bone by a trail stirrup before? Well, I can now raise my hand if anyone ever asks. It was not fun AT ALL. I was putting the stirrup over the saddle so it wouldn't hit Lillian ( Her full name is April's Designing Lilly, but Mr Duckworth, her owner, calls her Lilly, and I sometimes call her Lillian) in the side when I swung the saddle over. That was when the stirrup and I collided.

Hope ya'll have a great day, and try not to get injured by a trail stirrup or get your foot blanched;^)

Great job that you and Patch and Majma did on the vegetables (sorry about your foot). I've got another box of fruits and veggies here at work that i'll be bringing home. I think all we have to do is eat them though - we wouldn't want you to blanch the mangoes!!

Love ya,
Daddy

Your accidents do sound painful. I can honestly say that I don't ever expect to be close enough to a trail stirrup to be hurt by one. Boiling water is another matter, altogether. I make at least two pitchers of iced tea a day. I'm going to be very careful, though, and I advise you to do the same. Luckily, your father's right - you don't really need to blanch mangoes. Have a great week and I think I'll be seeing you next week on Tuesday. Love you! Aunt Sharon

Is Lillian a horse? two of my sisters went riding with me last night. I got to ride the really fast one which is named BayLady. I did a fast trot on her. Its really fun to ride our horses! We have three horses. The oldest one which is 26 is named Silky. She is good for giving rides to little kids. The one I just told you about is 18. The yougest one is named Pecosso and he is 15. The two mares are qourter horses and Pesosso is a pasifino. I really love our horses! Bye! horsiebabe p.s we had the best corn last night and fresh green beans.
