"A house without books is like a room without windows. No man has a right to bring up his children without surrounding them with books, if he has the means to buy them. It is a wrong to his family. Children learn to read by being in the presence of books. The love of knowledge comes with reading and grows upon it. And the love of knowledge, in a young mind, is almost a warrant against the inferior excitement of passions and vices." ~Horace Mann

Yes, They Do Read

Author: Tracey | Filed under: Family Life

After that last depressing photo of little men ignoring books in favour of technology, I had to restore the balance with this photo I snapped last night -

A little man in bed reading and eating vegetables.

That’s double point, right?

Ah yes but you see hubby and I are terrible vegetable consumers and everyone told us our kids would never eat vegetables. It seems they were wrong. My boys will choose a salad over chips any day. I don’t know where I got these children from. :)
