I am 15 weeks today in my pregnancy! Woot-woot!
I definitely find that if I lay off of the sugar, I don’t really have morning sickness. Yes, I am still dealing with it. Even just having a little bit of ice cream upsets my stomach. Any sort of candy or frosting will give me an almost instant headache and I get sick. My appetite in general has been off-the wall crazy. I really do miss eating like I had been. I was pretty much milk-free in my diet. But, during the first trimester, the only thing that made my stomach feel better was milk. It was amazing. Almost an instant balm for my stomach. I didn’t crave my favorite salads at all. But, now I’ve just started to tolerate them again well. And exercise made my insomnia worse…not better. I thought it would be the opposite. I am just now feeling like getting back on that treadmill.
I am going thru another bout of insomnia. The night before last, I went to bed at 11pm. If I go to bed too early, I wake up around midnight and then am wide awake (by body feels tired, but I just can’t sleep.) Anyway, so I go to bed at 11pm. Wake up at 3 am. I get up to do something to get sleepy (I cannot just lay there.) I feel tired again. Go back to bed. No sleep.
I thought for sure last night I would sleep. I pretty much was aware that I was awake most of the night…tossing and turning. I know it’s hormonal for me. Because I wake up so warm in the middle of the night! I’m constantly kicking off the covers and then I get chills. So…I guess this is what it is going to be for this pregnancy?
I am praying carpal and tarsal tunnel stay away, as well as bell’s palsy (those made their appearance during my last pregnancy.) It sure is a blessing that babies come out so cute! It really is all worth it!
Our oldest daughter is defintely working on getting her twelve year molars in. At least for two weeks she was miserable. I do always thank the Lord though, for showing us what is going on with a child that cannot tell us. I’ve seen HIM do this twice now with her teeth. He just up and shows me what the deal is. I started getting smiles out of our daughter this weekend. Yesterday was wonderful! Today has been rather hard. I am sure teething still plays into it, but her body is just out of sync today in other areas.
Really enjoying our pace of life lately. Schooling is fun! We are continually workign on character issues and the Lord is continually reminding me how to do that better. But, I am learning to take the interruptions from the Lord with His grace, knowing He has something to teach me thru it. I have some pictures to share of the kids. Just to get them off of the camera.

I forgot to share my thrift store finds! I found another nice bread machine. Yes…that makes two that we are using. We had two going at the same time on the counter the other day. And whoa…busy times!
Both work well. But, one is louder (BEEEP!) and finishes a bit faster. The bread turned out great in both of them.
I also found a mini crockette (just a tiny little crock pot.) It cleaned up really nice. I’ve set it on my counter to simmer cinnamon sticks in. Just to give our home a yummy smell…naturally. It works well in our kitchen. I don’t like stinky smells. My husband knows that I put dirty diapers out of this house right after they are changed. I have three air purifers in our home, which I really like. With eight people and a dog in this house…it’s nice to have fresh-er air to breath
I’ve been trying out oatmeal in our rice cooker. My kids loved the first batch I made and it lasted two mornings. Looking up more ways to use our rice cooker. Anything to make life easier!

Teeth. We took three kids into the dentist last week. And I am so happy to say that none of them had cavities (once again.) Thanks Lord! The dentist even commented what nice shiny teeth our oldest daughter has. The fact that she rarely eats sugar plays into that. Now we just have to get our other three kids into see the tooth doc
The flipside to this good news is that our oldest daughter has been so cranky lately. One of her fingers is chewed pretty raw, which has not happened for a couple of years, I believe. I’ve been thinking it was diet related. But, once at the dentist, we found that she’s teething once again! The last time she was teething, she was in a lot of distress. I’ve even seen her body respond to this kind of stress (common for kids with her genetic disorder) in seizure activity. I haven’t noticed that this time. But sure enough, her dentist found a very loose tooth. And said that her twelve year molars should be making their way in anytime.
We were at a family’s house for supper at the end of last week and we noticed our daughter’s mouth bleeding. We found her tooth on the floor. A nice, big shiny tooth. And our daughter was rather cranky that night too at points. So, I’ve been giving her half of an adult ibuprofen (avoiding sugar with the kid stuff) every 6 hours, and that seems to be cutting back on her yelling. That’s the hardest part for me. It’s really hard to go from a happy-ish girl, to a yelling and shoving child. I keep praying the Lord brings her thru this quickly.

We took our oldest special needs daughter to be fitted for new AFO’s and new shoes yesterday. She did well. And I am excited, because we are ordering her her first pair of specialty dress shoes. A pair of Mary Janes! I hope they look cute
I do grow rather tired of only having tennis shoes for our daughter to wear with dresses. Though, I am thankful for those shoes. It will just be nice to have something…cute! It will take about 4-6 weeks for delivery. But, I’ll post a picture later when we have them.
And my nine year old woke me up from sleep the other morning, only to tell me he had accidentally snapped his glasses in half while trying to bend them into a more comfortable shape. Sigh. So, those are ordered too! I’m just waiting to see when his six year old brother might need a different pair as well. I’ve seen them fly off of his face a few times during rough play. Boys!
