Today is my seven year wedding anniversary! Where does the time go? I am so thankful for my amazing husband, who loves the Lord and is committed to leading our family! He's also an awesome daddy, keeping me accountable to raising our kids for God's glory. Jeff works very hard to provide for our family as well so that I can stay at home. Then, in his free time he remodels our house and plays with the kids. My sweet mother-in-law is going to watch the monkeys tonight so we can have a little alone time for dinner!

"Ocean Beach" with Grandma
|
We love living in the mountains, so we enjoy fishing, hiking and swimming locally. My mother-in-law offered to take the kids and I to the "ocean beach." The kids had a great time! I did not have the energy to make this kind of trip alone. I appreciate my mother-in-law running around with the kids whenever I needed to sit!

Catching crabs was my son's favorite activity!

We also had a fun ferry ride! My kids love their grandma !

Photos from Leigh
|

My friend Leigh (Leigharev2) took this picture of my friend, Julie and I. We are both expecting our third kids in September. We've also known each other since jr. high! She has been a huge blessing to me through out the years!
Leigh also took this picture of my son climbing a tree. I thought it was great, thanks Leigh!

My daughter's first fish!
|
My daughter caught her first fish on her Dora Fishing pole, a bass! She was so proud.

The kids also enjoyed the Lily pad flowers. We are naming our daughter Lily, so the kids thought it was funny to call them the sister pads

Daddy was happy to catch a fish too!

Some recent photos
|
I am surprised by how few pictures I have taken lately! I will try and be better about updating the blog and taking photos of my beautiful family! I can't believe that it's been 8 weeks since I've taken a prego shot too! It's just harder to find time with the third. Basically, my blogging time has been overtaken by baby preparations. I've finally sorted through all the old boxes and new clothes for my little girl. I feel very blessed that the Lord has provided everything that I need for our little one. The only thing that I still need to purchase are diapers. As the weather gets hotter, I'm turning into more of a slug ! I want to be totally ready for her arrival very shortly even though I still have two more months. The kids are having fun nesting right along with me. They have been so funny about sorting the baby clothes and putting them away!
My baby girl and I at 29 weeks (my third trimester)!

Daddy and his 3 girls (his son is too busy for a photo)!

Hope that everyone is enjoying summer! Happy 4th of July!

Cubbies and Soccer
|
My son graduated from Awana cubbies. This was our second year. He loves the program and it's a great way for him to memorize the Bible! Next year he's on to Sparks.

He also loves soccer! Here are some pictures of his class. I signed him up for swim lessons again too. I'm glad that he loves organized sports because he has a lot of energy to use up!

My daugher wanted some pictures of her too while we were watching my son play.

Right now she is very good about watching my son play sports. It's been hard to balance his high energy with her medical condition. We are trying to come up with safe solutions for her play. We had another hospital appointment and the venous mass has not effected her vision. Praise the Lord! I appreciate all prayers for her safety and wisdom for my husband and I to raise her for God's glory!

Mother's Day with my three kids!
|

Sorry for the lack of pictures, friends and family! We had the flu for a couple of weeks both before and after mother's day. Fortunately, on Mother's day no one vomited! What a wonderful present . My husband also helped my kids make a stepping stone for our garden (so cute)! Here's another prego picture: 21 weeks (I feel huge, but know I'm going to get bigger). I can't wait to meet her... she kicks hard like my son did and often. We are still working on a name.

I started reading Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer, already I am convicted and encouraged by the book. It's been a while since I've picked up a theology book. After I looked to see how many pages were in the book, I read the preface where he states that he wrote a short theology book because modern day Christians don't take time to read the classics. As a mother, this book has been incredibly encouraging to me. I often find myself at a loss for words for describing God to my children. Tozer states that is because we can not describe Him in human terms. We do our best, but basically God is beyond complete description. In particular, the trinity is a difficult concept to describe. I love Tozer's prayer, "When we consider the fearful mystery of Thy Triune Godhead we lay our hand upon our mouth. Before that burning bush we ask not to understand, but only that we may fitly adore Thee, One God in Persons Three. Amen." Worship, not complete understanding is our calling. Our attempt to fully explain God stems from our low view of Him. "The low view of God entertained almost universally among Christians is the cause of a hundred lesser evils everywhere among us...The heaviest obligation lying upon the Christian Church today is to purify and elevate her concept of God until it is once more worthy of Him...We do the greatest service to the next generation of Christians by passing on to them undimmed and undiminished that noble concept of God which we received from our Hebrew and Christian fathers of generations past. This will prove of greatest value to them than anything that art or science can devise." This is my challenge as a mother, to prayerfully provide my kids with a high and exalted view of God.

Officially a soccer mom
|

My son has been begging to start soccer again. We just signed him up. He was so excited to get a soccer uniform! His cousin also loves her class too!

We also got a new vehicle (to complete the stereotype). Here is a photo of my kids dancing in the minivan. They love riding in the back together! Their tongues are even dancing! I have to say that this van has already been a huge blessing! My last car was small and not reliable. Now I don't have to worry about the car (free road side assistance) or fitting all three kids!

16 weeks: my avocado feels like a butterfly
|

I bought an avocado for my kids. My son keeps showing it to everyone. He loves telling people how big the baby is getting. It's so fun to feel little flutters too! I am so excited for the kids to feel the baby kick!

My turn to teach
This Tuesday it was my turn to teach at our co-op. It was a lot of fun to teach at the church. We have a wonderful group of kids and moms. Normally a few are unable to come for one reason or another. This week we were all surprised to find that we were all able to make it! We had 20 kids! Fortunately, I planned some rainy day games. We played "red light, green light" and "doggy, doggy, where's your bone?" Then, we had circle time. Finally, we filled out an "All About Me" worksheet and the kids took turns introducing themselves to the group. We gave the children opportunities to ask each other questions. I loved the statements that they made instead of asking questions - so cute! Overall, it was very fun. The kids and moms were done after snack, so I scraped the rest of my plans. We are going to divide into small groups to better accommodate all of our kids! The noise level was pretty crazy after about an hour. I am so thankful that Megan (JMOCT) and Linda (Linny) took pictures. Here's one of my son, playing "doggy, doggy, where's your bone?"

Updates on all the kids
|
My son is now reading to me in the car! He loves the early reader books that we checked out from the library. It's so great to have him motivated to read without my help. Sometimes he does need help with a specific word. He'll spell it to me and we'll sound it out together. Often, it is a new sight word to learn.
I'm finally in my second trimester! The nausea is gone and I'm hoping that my energy will be back to normal soon! My baby is also growing... we're up to a lemon!

My daughter also had another MRI. This one showed no changes in the blood flow through her brain. Therefore, we are going to wait 6 months until the next visit. The doctors basically had no new information. They just urged us to be very cautious with her (no more jungle gyms). Please continue to pray for her safety! They also explained that with today's technology any type of surgery would be very risky. However, in a year or more there may be new options. For now, I am thankful for how amazing she is doing. God has blessed us with two awesome children. I can not wait to meet the third.
