MamaBugs' 10 Rules to Live By

This prompt comes from a writing project I am not sure is still ongoing. I didn’t know about the project until after it took place so I didn’t participate "officially". I just thought the idea behind it was so wonderful and since I only have daughters it was a natural match for me. My desire is for my girls to have my writing to truly know me and my heart. I am really good at "maintaining military bearing" and not so great at sharing what is in my heart . On paper yes. In person not so much. I’ve been working on it since I got out of the military but with a husband still in and that environment around us all the time, it’s challenging. I am good at being "the strong one" and I am strong, don’t get me wrong; but inside…whew! A plethora of emotions and thoughts. Not always expressed.

Now I am not sure if anyone other than our daughters will understand all of these but you are welcome to read them.

What follows are…

"MamaBugs’ 10 Rules to Live By  ~ Including Daddy-isms"

1) Beauty starts with fresh breath – nuff said

2) Take care of your feet  – otherwise "Ho!" (Use your best Kamuela Grandma voice for that …you know the inflection)

3) Bocha you feel betta

4) Kodomo no tame ni – everything is for the"sake of the children".

5) Remember how to apologize – Each say what you did to contribute to the issue, say you are sorry, ask for forgiveness and make nice. Yes.you.have.to.hug…when the heart is softened again, hugs are easy.

6) Family first

7) God always answers prayers – He just chooses yes, no, or not now.

8) You don’t have to like it or understand it. You just have to do it. Why? Because when you are an adult, God isn’t going to always tell you why or ask you to like it. You just have to do it.

9) Never waste a chance to say I love you or share Jesus. You don’t know the number of your days.

10) Prayer changes things.

PS…I couldn’t figure out how to spell "kudeyum" correctly or I would have added it after Grandma’s "Ho!" and  since "hagimoto" really is a word I made up trying to speak Japanese to Daddy one day, it was hard to fit in here but you should remember that too.

So…11) Brush you hair so it’s not all hagimoto!
