Moving the Mountain

Aug. 5, 2008 - What to do on a wet English day?

We were rather stuck as to what to do on a wet day at the beginning of August, so we decided to go on a desert survival course in our living room!  Here is Littlesmurf wearing a "burnoose" to protect his face from the sun (?) and sand.

Now I understand how he kept falling into the water. I had no idea. I thought when you learned how to canoe you just sat in the boat and rowed.

Hi Chrissy,

Your son looks like he was having fun with his 'burnoose.' I can't say that the face covering is common in this desert (the Sonoran), but wearing the cloth over the back of the head and covering the neck definitely is. You will always find a hat on top of this. Usually a safari-style or fishing hat. Just more info for you both! :)

Have a blessed and peace-filled week's end!
