Dec. 6, 2007 - Tortilla Making Lesson
Welcome one and all to a tortilla making lesson! Have you ever tried making homemade tortillas? Well I hadn’t either until I became wheat intolerant. Then I found an simple-looking recipe for them and decided to try it. I've made tortillas several times now, and it couldn't be easier.
Tortillas are so versatile. They can be used for sandwich wraps, which is good for people like me who can’t have regular bread. I like them warmed up with chicken salad inside or even with just plain turkey and lettuce. Quesadillas are another option if you can tolerate dairy. I've learned that hard cheeses like cheddar only have a minimal amount of lactose in them, so some people who are lactose intolerant can actually have cheddar cheese. A few days ago I had my first quesadilla that I've had in a couple months. Mmmm, it tasted so good! I used to have those for lunch frequently, before my health issue developed. Now I can have them again. Yay. :-)
This recipe can be made either with regular all-purpose flour or with gluten-free all purpose flour (like the Bob’s Red Mill brand found in many grocery stores). It yields about 8 tortillas.
Read the rest of this recipe (with pics!) at my other blog here.

Hey Mandy!
Yes, I thought the present thing was prett cool! I wish everyonew would get one, so I could leave them presents! :-)
Aw, yes!! I'm looking very forward to seeing the next National Treasure movie! Riley is my favorite. :-) And that's so neat that they ate at the same restuarant!
I'll have to try making tortillas! I like making wraps with them too..... sometimes the thought of bread is just a bit much, and a tortilla with turkey and lettuce is always yummy. :-)
Hugs,
Becca

I was reading my Bible this morning when I came across this verse:
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. (Psalm 85:10)
I immediately thought of your blog. So I have been wondering... is your blog title based off this verse?

I'll try making it sometime!
You're welcome! I believe you both deserve the award! How I wish there could be two winners!
Yes, without the cold weather, the birds couldn't migrate south. You don't have to do a whole entire post just because of one comment, unless you just REALLY want to! ;-)

Oh, tortillas!!! Yum!!! I haven't had a homemade tortillas in 9 years! That was when we went on a missions trip to Mexico. And every morning while we were there, I ate tortillas for breakfast. :)
Well, I have been to a Mall twice. The one in Nashville and when we went down to Louisiana in June we went to the Mall. But we had never been to the one here in Alabama before. :) And yes, I had never been to "Gap" before, either. And both the Mall and Gap are, like, only 45 minutes away. :)
I didn't think it got cold in CA. :) I guess hearing "Sunny California" made me think it doesn't get cold there. lol! But, I was wrong. :D
Well, hope you have a wonderfully blessed day and weekend!
lots of hugs,
Jordan Lee

Hello... I saw on Amanda's blog you saying something about making tortillas... sounds yummy. I could really go for a burito right now! lol And you don't have to use wheat in the recipe we have... that's just what we use.
The sugar cookies on the previous entry also sound yummy, but I wasn't able to tell you on blogger. ; )
Love,
Jocelyn
