A Different Perspective

• December 1, 2008 - Stunningly Gorgeous

Posted By SuperAngel in Growing In Grace Magazine

Stunned is one word that is describing me right now! I looked at my clock on my start button only to see that it says December 1, 2008 as the date! :O When did that happen? I was just helping with the barn chores last night thinking wasn't it just the other day when I was down in the snow helping with the goats and horses (which I don't have anymore). But it was a year ago that we were doing barn chores in the snow. Amazing! So much has happened this year!

Once again it is a new month and once again, Growing In Grace Magazine has published another great issue! I am so privileged to be on this amazing team of writers who pull together every month to bring you the best of Godly encouragement, help and fun!
This month is chocked full of wonderful article and we have a absolutely stunning design!
There is also a adorable calendar icon you can grab too! You can see it in my right sidebar down aways.

See that gorgeous icon you can get to decorate your site with? I got it for mine and am loving it!
We have a very cute Girl of Grace this month too: Miss Monica June. She is a serving girl and I am very glad to know and call her friend! She is such a pretty girl inside and out!

Make sure you go over to GGM to get all the codes for these great icons!

There are so many great articles this month! I can't wait to dig into them all! Wanna start digging? You can see all the articles in December 2008.
I had a wonderful time writing my articles:

In Remembrance of Him

The Most Important Friendship

For Goodness' Sake

"A Date That Will Live In Infamy"

At the end of the month, look for The Long Awaited End. This will be on a subject that is near and dear to my heart.
Well after I get some sleep, because I never went to bed last night, I am going to read all those wonderful articles and get encouraged and helped through them. I hope you will too!
So head over to GGM now and check out the wonderful issue that is the December Edition! Our team would love to know what you think about everything you read, so if you have time leave a comment! Hearing from our readers is a great encouragement to the team of GGM.
OH! Don't forget to enter my Homeschool Rocks Giveaway! It ends this coming Saturday!

• November 29, 2008 - Give Thanks

Posted By SuperAngel in Memes and Carnivals
Saturday Psalm & PraiseI have so much to be thankful for in my life. SO much to have A Thankful Heart for! But the most important thing I am thankful for is God. He is so good and wonderful and merciful and loving and awesome! He is GOD!
Psalm 136:1,26O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.
We need to show our thankfulness to Him daily through our actions, attitudes and speech to everyone so they will know why we live!
I picked Give Thanks for my because I am really thankful for everything the Lord has done in my life!

Give Thanks
Give Thanks
With a grateful heart
Give thanks
To the Holy One
Give thanks
Because He's given
Jesus Christ, His Son
(X2)

And now let the weak say
I am strong
let the poor say
I am rich
Because of what
The Lord has done
For us
(X2)
Give Thanks

Let's not just show our thankfulness and gratitude on that third Thursday in November once a year, but everyday of every year because He deserves it! I am going to set a goal to show my thankfulness to God for everything He has done and is doing in my life everyday.
Love, Prayers and Blessings,

Thanks for stopping by “Daily” at the “Planet”!!

• November 26, 2008 - Homeschool Memoirs: A Thankful Heart

Posted By SuperAngel in Memes and Carnivals
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/hsbawards/Homeschool%20Memoirs/hm20.png
We all know what tomorrow is, well in the US anyway, its Thanksgiving. It is wonderful that we have set a day to show how thankful we are for everything God has given us, although we shouldn’t only show it on the third Thursday in November but I am thankful for the day that we have set aside to really show how thankful we are. This week’s Homeschool Memoirsspa really allows us to show how much of A Thankful Heartwe really have:
This week, you guessed it, is going to be about having a thankful heart! Yes, of course, we should always be thankful for everything we’re blessed with, but it’s not too often we actually sit and ponder what. This week please join me in writing 27 things you’re thankful (There’s got to be at least 27things!). I picked 27 because this year Thanksgiving is on the 27th of November.
Also, share a Scripture verse for this week!
I am not sure I can squeeze everything I am thankful for in 27 spaces, but I can say the things I am MOST thankful for! :)

1. The amazing gift Christ offers: Salvation
2. A loving God who will take me back even when I stray away.
3. A wonderful family.
4. Caleb, my dude even when he is running around late at night and we want to strap him to the wall.
5. LillieGirl, my Sweetness!
6. My awesome Vostro.
7. A wonderful house that is warm and cozy even if its a mess.
8. Winter. Yes, even if I absolutely hate the cold, I am thankful for it because it reminds me how much I LOVE summer.
9. For vacuums and brooms and dustpans because I can’t stand dirty floors.
10. Finding organic face care, so I can be healthy inside and out.
11. For all the things God is showing me and doing for me, even the painful ones.
12. For sweet friends like Misty and SisterLisa.
13. For the opportunity to minister and be ministered through blogging.
14. That God supplies all our needs.
15. For little packages in the mail.
16. For little encouraging emails from friends I love.
17. For a washer and dryer and the 10 loads of laundry I do everyday.
18. Raspberry Tea and hot coffee with Hazelnut creamer.
19. Not having to get a job to provide for myself.
20. Being homeschooled and graduating with honors.
21. For all the warm blankets I have gotten or made: Handmade Quilt, BIP afghan, Superman fleece, and leopard fleece.
22. Having Grandma here to go to the store with me.
23. Food. I love food and am so glad that God gives us the food we need!
24. For hardships and trials that God allows us to walk through. They make us stronger when we finish!
25. Caleb and LillieGirl’s kisses!
26. For the Word of God. That I can read it and know what He wants of me.
27. For the Wonderful Life I have!

What are you thankful for?
2 Corinthians 9:11
Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

• Nov. 26, 2008 - I'm sorry for breaking all the promises I wasn't around to keep..

Posted By Kayla

To the people dumb enough to read my blog: I'm an emotional mess right now. Sorry. This is basically a sappy, dorky entry and the whole point of a blog is NOT to entertain other people...I mean, when you read the definition of "weblog" when the whole blog shebang started.

SO. Your options are. Read the entry..and resist the urge to laugh, remember, MY blog, MY life, you chose to read on anyway, I told you it was sappy. OR you can just exit now.

SO, the little red button with the X through it, in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Click it! It's fun.

Today basically sucks.

Our AMAZING...Dog Dakota had to be put to sleep today.

But, He sure would look handsome next to Jesus with a halo over his head

His nice golden coat, his eyes full of joy, and his willingness to please.

This dog has NO idea how much he's missed.

My sister just stopped crying, I'm still crying...

Dakota-

You were the BEST dog in the whole wide world!

I remember when we got you, I remember walking into the big kennel they had you in and playing around with your brothers and sisters.

I remember picking up your sister, a cute little fluffy black puppy and saying "I want her!" I remember Mom and Dad saying that they already picked you out..

I remember Mom telling us that your Mommy got hit by a car..

I remember the ride home, holding you in my arms practically the whole time! I remember telling mom and dad that we should name you Butter[sorry about that!], thank heaven they said no.

I remember the house we used to live in, your first home, I remember how you were such a tiny little puppy and your eyes seemed to bug out of your head, I remember how you used to LAUNCH yourself off the dock at the lake, and you would play fetch until everyone's arms hurt...

I remember sneaking you into my bed after everyone else was a sleep.

I remember last summer when Daddy played fetch with you so long you fell over and we thought  he killed you..

I can't remember life without you, Dakota, you have NO idea how much I miss you right now.. You were the best dog in the whole wide world, and I'm glad we didn't get your sister, and I'm glad you have the name you have.

Your last few week's were painful for you...

and you tried so hard to make us happy..and you did! I wish we could have done something different, so that you didn't have to suffer and you could still be with us..

I found this, Buddy, and it made me think of you.

Tribute To A Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

I love you Buddy, I will alway remember you. You will always have a place in my heart.

• Nov. 26, 2008 - Life on the Homestead

Posted By Sarah R

Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I posted once again.  This has been such a busy year for us.

We moved out to our "new" homestead at the end of July.  It was a bittersweet move.  One where we knew we could accomplish a lot of our goals....but one that neither of us were sure we were ready for.  I was scared to leave the simplicity we found in town and rightfully so.  We had been working on the house since May.....and made a lot of major progress...but it still seems that there's lots we could be doing!  Our job is never done!

Part of our plan is to open a car lot here on our property.  We bought a place right on the highway where we'd have lots of traffic to view our things.  When we moved, we moved it all into the building that was to later become the car lot office....and then gradually have moved stuff into the house as we're ready for it.  Well....we're now down to crunch time.  The State inspector will be coming to make sure our building is an acceptible place of business.....and we need to have it look more presentable!  WOW...we sure had stuff stuffed in there!  We spent a lot of last week dragging things around...moving it into our basement onto tables and pallets, hoping to keep it dry.  One day of doing that is enough to bring this pregnant mama down.  I sure do wear out easily these days!  I didn't lift anything too heavy, but just being on my feet all day can really take it's toll.  We have a few cars set out on our newly gravelled lot and have gotten a lot of interest in the first few days that they've been out there.  Nothing has sold yet, but we're feeling really optimistic.

Another thing that is new to us, is that we are heating our house with wood.  We are really enjoying this!  We have a wood furnace that sits outside.  It warms water up to 180 degrees and then pumps it into a radiator in the basement which blows it through the central heat ductwork.  It is all controlled by a normal thermostate just like central heat.  We also have a propane furnace that will use the same vents, but we sure enjoy getting to hear for next to nothing.  My husband has been following the electrical line tree trimmers around picking up whatever they leave.  They said he was welcome to take what he wanted.  He managed to get 3 truck loads of it today!  That should last quite a while!

We've had our share of adventures living out here, too.  First on the list......  MICE!  EWWWW.  We knew that mice would likely be a problem, but now that it's getting colder, we're beginning to see that problem.  We're stuffing any potential mouse holes with steel wool....and setting traps.  We had 3 kittens and a mama cat when we moved out here but they've all disappeared, so we just recently got 2 more kittens to go along with our one house cat that we brought when we moved.  Hopefully they will all help to control the population......and in the mean time, we'll be able to continue to fix any potential place the mice could find their way in.  So far, they seem to be fewer and fewer.  We hope that it continues that way!

Another recent adventure.....I was in the kitchen cooking....and saw out the back window a bunch of smoke in the middle of a patch of grass.  I couldn't imagine why the grass would be smoking, so I asked my husband if there's a reason why because you just never know what he's been up to outside....lol.  As I was telling him, it got thicker and flames started bursting up.  I noticed that his truck wasn't too far away from the fire, so I began to worry a bit.  My husband and son ran out to investigate and sure enough, it was a grass fire that was beginning to spread somewhat quickly thanks to the windy day.  My son had just dumped the ashes from the wood stove and I didn't realize that was their dumping place.  I guess there were still some hot embers that caught it on fire.  Had I not been in the kitchen at that time, things could've really gotten out of control quickly.  The ended up grabbing the waterhose and putting out with that.

We've had a dump truck knock down electric lines, a tractor pull up propane lines by mistake and a tractor run over the water meter causing a large leak.  We're just full of adventure.  No wonder I miss the simplicity of the other house!  LOL  I don't think that things will continue like this....as they seem to be calming down already.  I just really need to get the inside of the house in order so that I can decorate for Christmas and then soon after, bring a baby home without quite as much to do.  You should hear all the plans that we still have!  Every day, my husband wakes up with a mental list of his priorities and it's always very long!  Luckily a lot of our to do list isn't things that have to be done on a regular basis...a lot of them are one time type things....and as we finish a lot of those, we'll be able to get into more of a routine.  Welcome to "farm" living!

• Nov. 25, 2008 - Love.

Posted By Kayla
So Basically. I'm turning this into my writing blog. If I write something. It'll be up here. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Love. is when you want someone to be happy, no matter what, wether it's with you or not, love is when just being together is enough and you treasure every moment, love is when your heart breaks everytime the person your in love with has a bad day, get's their feelings hurt, or just anything to make them anything but happy. Love is complicated, it's not easy it's not simple it is the hardest thing I've ever been through. But it's worth it. Love is when your in the deepest pain possible, and when the one you love is upset, and you do all you can to make their day better... Love is worth every tear, love is when you wipe away every tear. Love is when that special someone, may not feel the same about you....and they do everything to break you, and everything to destroy the very core of your being. and you say "i still love you" and you'd take them back in a heart beat. Love is forgiveness. Love is always being sorry, that your not good enough, that you don't try hard enough, that your not worthy enough. Love is when your not good enough for someone. But you try till it hurts to be good enough, even though you know you never will be. Love is?

I love Secondhand Serenade. Their music...is...so..cute :D SO. I'm mono free. chyeahh. which means I should be back at swimteam next week *crosses fingers* I have a cold right now. Third one in about 5 weeks. EW. The bad thing about not having mono is I have to do the round robin for speech class, and I signed up for Individual Apologetics, where your given a question by the judges, you have 3 minutes to write a speech [up to seven minutes long] and then you have to give the speech. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. And it's not like I can just play sick for one day! Cause I have swimteam practice and then a swim meet on Saturday, and my grandparents are coming from out of state and they'll want to watch me. GAH! this is going to stink. I wonder if I could e-mail my speech teacher and tell her that I'm a chicken and am to afraid to do IA....yeah...maybe I'll try that. Eat Your Carrots. Love, Hawk Nelson. Oh! I mean Kayla ;] I have my Hawk Nelson green t-shirt on :D IT HAS A MONSTER ON THE BACKK. awesome. --kayla katastrophee.

• November 22, 2008 - The Mercy Seat

Posted By SuperAngel in Memes and Carnivals
Saturday Psalm & Praise I was reading my Bible the other day and I was reading about after Moses was walking and talking with God on Sinai and God gave Moses the directions for the temple. I really enjoyed reading about the Mercy Seat. What a wonderful thing that Mercy Seat is!
Exodus 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
The Mercy Seat is where we can meet with God and He can take away our sins! HALLELUJAH!
Mercy Seat
In the darkness

Where everything is unknown

I face the power of sin on my own

I did not know of a place I could go

Where I could find a way to
Heal my wounded soul.
He said that I could come into

His presence without fear

Into the holy place where
His mercy hovers near

I'm runnin' I'm runnin'
I'm runnin' to the mercy seat
Where Jesus is callin' he said

His grace would cover me

His blood will flow freely

It will provide the healin'
Come runnin' to the mercy seat

I'm runnin; to the mercy seat.

Are you livin' where hope has not been?

You're lost in the curse of a

Lifetime of sin

Lovely illusions they never
Come true I know where there's a place

Of mercy for you

He said that you could come into his

Presence without fear
Into this holy place
Where his presence hovers near.

Come runnin' come runnin'
Come runnin' to the mercy seat

Where Jesus is callin' he said his
Grace would cover you. His blood
Will flow freely it will provide the healin'
Come runnin' to the mercy seat
I'm runnin' to the mercy seat

He said that you could come into his presence

Without fear into the holy place
Where his mercy hovers near

I am so thankful for the Mercy Seat! That we are free to go into it any time and converse with our Savior! I know that I NEED the Mercy Seat like I need air and water. I need to be able to go into the place where God is and be with Him and talk with Him. Isn't it just a awesome gift that God has given us? I want to run to that Mercy Seat daily to be in His presence! I am going to make sure that everyday along with my Bible reading and prayer time that I have a time set aside to run to the Mercy Seat to be with Him. Thank you Lord for your Mercy Seat!
