"Faces of the Fallen," is an exhibit of
more than 1,300 portraits honoring America's servicemen and women who
died fighting the war on terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq, and is on
display at the Women's Memorial in Arlington, VA until May 31. On
our recent trip to DC our family had a chance to see this display. We
all were visibly moved by the exhibit. As you walk in, there are rows
and rows of portraits. The display curves around inside the memorial
and keeps going. Sadly, we recognized some faces.
The
Women's Memorial is across the street from Arlington's main gate.
Military.com says, "More than 230,000 visitors were drawn to the
Women's Memorial since the exhibit opened in March 2005, which is a
record attendance."
For more information
on the exhibit, visit its website at facesofthefallen.
