Pray for our President!

Posted in Troop Prayers

This is paraphrased from an email from PPT:

On July 6th, President George W. Bush will celebrate his 60th birthday, so let’s honor him. I’ve been disturbed lately to hear how many Americans have stopped supporting President Bush. Recent polls show that his approval ratings are near an all-time low.

On the best of days, our President faces incredibly difficult decisions. No choice he makes can possibly please everyone. Regardless of where each of us stands on the political spectrum, there can be no question that President Bush desperately needs, deserves and appreciates our genuine prayers.

Clearly, now is the time to increase our prayers. At this critical moment I’m more convinced than ever that we must not sacrifice the Scriptural mandate to pray for America’s President to temporary political sentiment.

...for your kind words on my blog! (I finally received a comment from someone! -- it's been a few days.) :-)

I'll do my best to help promote Patriotic Fridays. (I tend to spend too much time on-line, so I need to work on balancing it with the rest of my life - ha!)

Hey y'all...I decided to do a little ditty about Flag Day this week, since it's coming up soon. Thanks again for coming up with this idea, gals.
May you and yours be safe this weekend.

I totally agree with you on this subject! Pres. Bush needs our prayer, not our disagreement. He needs support as our leader.

He is in my prayers!

I feel as if I know already. I love how you bleed the red, white, and blue. I really enjoyed reading through your blog. I'm a military wife (Air Force) and I'm just realizing that my DH is making this a career. The Red Skelton quote brought tears to my eyes. I saw the video clip at my folks over the holidays. Of course they were all quite and reverent, but none felt it as I did. We are the sole military people on both sides of the family. Thank you for you blog. I'm adding you to my friends list so I can stay updated on miltary stuff I might otherwise miss.

Jun. 13, 2006 - A Hearty Salute

Being brought up as an army brat, I understand the need for prayer--prayer for the government--prayer for those who fight for us--prayer for our steadfastness in times that are uncertain. It is scriptural. It is a command. And we would do well to honour and obey that order. I, too, pray for your president--and our prime minister.
