PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER REQUESTS FOR NOVEMBER 16, 2006
As President Bush is in the midst of an eight-day trip to Southeast Asia for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings, pray for safety and protection in every leg of this important journey. Pray for Gods presence and guidance during meetings with APEC leaders. Pray that Gods will is done as the President seeks to advance our nations interests through partnership and dialogue with Asian leaders.
Pray for the members of Congress as they organize and plan for the new session. Pray for the new freshmen in Congress--ten in the Senate and 50 the Housethat they will work together to serve their constituencies faithfully. Pray for republicans who will elect House leaders this week. Pray for House Speaker Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Reid and all who now step up to lead. Pray for a continuing spirit of cooperation.
As Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld has begun the transition of leadership to Robert Gates, pray for both men in the coming weeks, that the change will be a smooth one, serving Gods highest purposes for America, for our troops and for our military efforts in the world.
As more candidates announce their interest in running for President in 2008, pray for this process, asking God to raise up candidates of His choosing.
Pray for the crew of Space Shuttle Discovery as they prepare for next months launch via intense training exercises. Pray for safety and effectiveness in their preparation.
As new studies have shown the horrors of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), particularly for troops who have returned from the Middle East, pray for help and healing for all who struggle with this difficult condition.
Pray for our troops as they serve with courage and valor in Afghanistan, Iraq and around the world. Pray for strength and protection at every moment. Pray for the wounded and the veteran to receive the healing and support they need, and pray that every family will be encouraged and helped during this period of sacrifice. |
