JB, aka: Maggie Hogan's Son

One of the things I wanted to do on this blog is feature homeschoolers who have gone on to serve their country and I am pleased to be able to do that right now. A few days ago Maggie shared this wonderful story, Reflections of War in Graffiti, written by her son, JB, currently on duty in Iraq. I was so moved by his poignant writing I asked permission to include a trackback to it here. I am linking back to Maggie's site which has the entire article and will direct you to JB's xanga blog.

Not only do I want to call attention to his blog but also to his book! That's right! JB is an author too. Read this excerpt shamelessly lifted from Maggie's web page. I think she'll forgive me?! (I hope so!)

When homeschool graduate JB Hogan joined the Army the summer of 2001, his mother urged him to write home. The avalanche of letters that followed reassured her that JB was surviving the Army, even if the Army didn’t quite know what to make of JB! Both scathingly funny and deeply poignant, this coming-of-age story is a book for America and her families . . .
