In case you didn't see Anissa's entry of 16 November on the Company Couch let me share with you that she announced the newest addition to the TOS e-Newsletter line-up! A monthly e-News for homeschooling military families. That's what the "camo" banner above is for! I am so excited to be a part of this project. It is still in the planning stages right now but I plan to discuss issues, provide support and create a forum for us to share our thoughts and struggles unique to our situations.
Recently, I share with Anissa the following thoughts:
I am impressed [TOS} is concerned about military homeschoolers to the point of wanting to do this. I agree it is the only thing out there like this. I'm sure you've heard feedback from other military hs'ers regarding the special challenges we have, and yet we thrive as our own community world-wide. Homeschooling has made our moves that much easier as we can find like-minded people fairly quickly. One of the overall things I notice about military hs'ers though is the strong sense of family unit and their willingness to reach out and help others. It's time we had a way of networking together to make us even stronger. This is a great opportunity to move forward in that direction.
Further, I asked her to agree in prayer with me that the Lord would have His way in this endeavor and that I would be sensitive to what He wants to do with it. I would like to ask you to join us in this prayer. If you are willing to do so, please leave a comment saying you are praying!
That will not be your only opportunity to be directly involved with this newsletter. Each month I will asking YOU for testimonials, what you liked, what you would like to see added, and to hear your thoughts. Right now I would LOVE for you to share any ideas for what you would like to see in the newsletter. It can be a topic or a recurring column idea. Just leave a comment to share your ideas.
The target date for the first issue is February 2006 barring any changes in our relocation dates. |

I am glad that I found this. Please try to include info for the folks who are hsing onlies or only two children. Families with multiple children seem to get most of the time on the printed page or in ezines. Us with "onlies" do exist in this journey, too.
Thanks,
