Day 7- His Mind A quote from Stormie at the beginning of this chapter, “This is not God speaking into my husband’s life—it is the voice of the enemy. I’m not going to stand by and watch deadly games being played with his mind and our lives.” All men have an enemy who wants to undermine what God wants to do in their lives. (Women have the same enemy by men seem more vulnerable in some areas) Even the strongest man gets exhausted, overwhelmed, burdened, and desperate and caught up in things that keep him away from the presence of God. The 2 most powerful weapons against the attack of your husbands mind is (1) the Word of God and (2) Praise. Hebrews 4:12 You can speak the Word of God over your husband either in his presence or alone in prayer. Let’s pray our husbands receive the mind of Christ and bring every thought captive under God’s control. Pray: - protection on my husbands mind - shield him from the lies of the enemy - help him to clearly discern Your voice vs. any other - show him how to take every thought captive, as you instruct us to - may he thirst for Your Word - give him strength to resist lying thoughts - for the Holy Spirit to cleanse his mind - Luke 10:9 by that authority I command all lying spirits away from my husbands mind—I proclaim him a sound mind. POWER TOOLS- (there are a FEW here…but each is so important…don’t skip this section) Put on the whole amour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:18 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. Mark 12:30
