Plans for this week....

Well thankfully the house is de-cluttered and "Clean".... (except the bathroom-- which hubby promises will be tomorrow-- he bought some special stuff to clean the tub..and he will not let me use it...so I've had to wait patiently).

So what to do for the next 4 weeks?  Get back on track with "life"... Today-- I got out my planning sheet for the week-- which I took MOST of my ideas from this WONDERFUL post....  (love it).... and worked thru our week-- THANKFULLY our only "to do errand" is an OB and Ultrasound on Thursday...(these Dr's are driving me CRAZY).  SO that will be VERY nice!!

My # 1 goal is to do someTomato Staking of my MIDDLE CHILD--- wheww-- he really needs staked 110% of the time-- much more than his older brother EVER needed!!    But in addition I really want to tie some heart strings--and I have been re-reading some of my notes from the Ted Tripp Seminar we attended in March.. see my entries HERE and HERE on what I wanted to apply-- but have FAILED miserably....

So the rest of the evening I plan on looking thru my notes from the Ted Tripp Seminar and also the Raising Godly Tomatoes site.. I should just buy the book-- that site is PACKED FULL of great information!!

** Edited to come back and add a few other great entries dealing with my "Goals" this week: (these are some of my favorites-- in my homemaking binder to serve as a reminder)

Willing to Pay the Price- by Mrs E

Who Has Your Chi'd's Heart- By: His Willing Vessel

Really any of the entries by these dear ladies are so very encouraging....  you can get to their blog home pages HERE and HERE.

If we get the heart issues worked out-- then we'll move on to some SCHOOL work!!  No, really-- school will fit in quite nicely-- with the heart issues-- I would like to see LOTS of read alouds- and then our 1 on 1 time for math and phonics...shouldn't be too difficult.  Still reading Teaching the Trivium...can't wait to continue in that....

I really want to schedule some 1 on 1 time with each of the older boys each week-- does anyone else do this-- what does it look like in YOUR home?  I have a few ideas-- I've wanted to do this for awhile--but I now see it is NEEDED!!

Oh and did I mention walking by the garden I think 100 tomatoes turned BRIGHT red overnight!!!!!!!    I think I'll be plenty busy this week!!!

Aug. 17, 2008 - momma cat

Posted by henley

hi - love your blog - you are a great mom:)
Have to comment/suggest about momma cat though. If she is nursing FIVE kittens, she needs more to eat than mice. PLEASE feed her some kitten food (dry is fine if you can't afford wet). She desperately needs the extra calories now if she's nursing. I realize you are not a "cat" person but it's not her fault that she is homeless and had kittens. That is some stupid human's fault. It makes me so sad to think of her nursing those babies and being so hungry:( She desperately needs to be fixed also.

It is always so nice to get back on track and in the swing of things when it comes to the house, school, and our kidlets!

I sorely need to get back on track. ASAP.

Wow, very cool about the tomatoes (I think). So are you going to can them? You should take a picture for us! Because NEXT year, yes that is the year that I will have a garden. Just ignore the fact that I said the same thing last year... and the year before...

I don't often post much but I love your blog. It is neat to see all the ways God is blessing your family and what you are learning. Your boys are sweet and I'm sure the new little one will be too. :-) BTW -- did you share your tomatoes on Friday? We had only one so far from our patch and enjoyed the ones we were blessed with Friday at the playground.

Aug. 18, 2008 - hi!

We have set aside one evening per week per child. That child gets to stay up 30 min to an hour or so past his regular bedtime and spend one on one time with mom or dad or both. We usually play a board game but have done pillow fights and just talking! Works great for us!
And yes, the RGT book is worth getting!!!
