Meet Rebekah....

So sorry about the delay-- it has been a bit busier than normal around here....

If I only had the baby and the 2 older boys I probably could've posted sooner---but Stephen is MOBILE AND BUSY!!!

So yes, Rebekah finally arrived--- and it was perfect timing-- this delivery was the easiest and fastest yet-- each one gets easier and faster...... (thankfully-- since my first was 25 hours and very HARD).

My water broke Friday morning at almost EXACTLY 1am--Jason was at work-- so the first thing I did was call the OB and see if I could wait till morning because I was having NO contrax at that point-- and she said NO becuase I was Strep B + which meant I needed some IV's first.  So I called hubby and he came home, called my mom who was going to watch the boys--- and waited-- well it takes my mom 2 hours to get here-- and about an hour into waiting I started to have pressure-- not contrax but pressure-- and it made me NERVOUS (the hospital was 40 minutes away) so we called a friend/neighbor to come and sit for the last 45 minutes with the boys-- thankfully she came!!

Then we got to the hospital around 3am-- and they started the IV's and paperwork-- BORING-- and really nothing happened at this point until around 8am-- and then I was able to whirl pool a bit-- and still I had no REAL contrax to speak of-- they were on the monitor and I could feel em' but they were NOTHING compared to what I had felt earlier in the week....so they hooked me up to one more bag of antibiotics and then started some PIT!!!  Well I don't take PIT w/o it's accompaniment (an EPI).....so that was all around 10:30-11am--   and by 1:10 she was here-- it was BY FAR my easisest delivery-- only pushed a handful of times and she was here-- I was actually SURPRISED...I was like REALLY???  Then when they handed her to me and I saw a HEAD FULL of BLACK HAIR I was even more surprised!!!  Where did THAT come from??   The 3 boys were born bald-- and they have, brown, blonde (white), and red hair (in that order)..... now we have  a HEAD FULL of BLACK hair-- how weird!!

Well then I was ready to come home Saturday--I'm not much for the hospital-- and I really felt GOOD all things considered--- but--- they insisted I stay till Sunday to be sure baby was okay with the Strep B stuff-- and then on Sunday they determined she had really high levels of Jaundice-- so they put her under thelights and kept her till Monday--- they were very nice and discharged me but allowed us to stay in "our" room until SHE was discharged.

Her numbers slowly came down and they discharged her but wanted her #'s rechecked Tuesday morning and here they jumped 4points-- to 17-- so that was not good-- and they put her on the bili blanket here at the house-- with the notion if the number hit 20--she'd be back in the hospital-- thankfully that didn't happen-- and we kept her under the lights until Friday-- going each morning to the hospital for blood work!!

Other than that she has been a pretty easy baby-- sleeps well-- eats-- well not so well--but we are working on that-- she doesn't nurse that well--(by the output of diapers that is) and she doesn't really care for bottles either-- so-- we are working on that-

Jason has been home since deliverya nd will be home until NEXT Tuesday-- that is nice-- he has helped a lot since carring Stephen was a bit too much for me last week...

The boys spent the week with their grandparents-- until last Thursday so that was nice with all the 'drama' and lights and daily trips to the hosptial.....  when they came home we had some major adjustments though-- they really had a GREAT time with their grandmother who had things planned each day (even if it was just a nature walk) and when they came home and I didn't have every moment planned there was a bit of a 'break down".

All is well now and we may even jump into a bit of school work tomorrow to help get things on a routine-- we ALL work better on a routine-- it will be a loose one-- but I think it will do us all well.

Wanna see some pics ?  Then I must go-- Stephen has been a REAL sport sitting and playing by my feet while Rebekah sleeps and the older 2 are outside with daddy.

I can't see Rebekah's pictures! For some reason, your pictures are red blocks when you first post them. But as soon as you post more pictures, I will be able to see these. I am sure that she is beautiful.

I don't know if I ever told you, but our only girl is a Rebekah too! And she has dark brown hair! I am so very glad that your delivery was easy and fast. Praise the Lord! I will be praying that your healing is very quick and you are back to your normal self soon.

Babies, babies everywhere! I've only checked in on 2 friends this morning, and you've both had babies this past week! What a joy and blessing! I'm so glad to hear all went well and you and baby are healthy. Praise God! I will say an extra prayer for you today (you're always in my regular prayers!) for a speedy recovery and for God's blessing as you adjust to your bigger family!
