From lost paperwork to fish spelling boys!

Supposedly, the contract was overnighted last Friday. I ended up calling TX today to have another copy sent to our SWer. Our homestudy will be updated on Tuesday. Then prayerfully we can get the state paperwork OUT of the way!!

On a bright note - Our ND is such a bright boy. We were told when we adopted him that he would not likely ever be potty trained.

Today we had out some Texas toast. ND walked by pointed at the word Texas looked at me and stated "Texas mom!" and walked on!

This last week he has taken the wooden blocks and spelled Fish and Dog. When at first he mixed up the letters he was very disgruntled. He studied it and studied it. Finally he arranged the letters correctly. He was so proud of himself! I am SO proud of him.

This child has FAE, is mild mentally retarded, and has a form of autism. With God ALL things are possible!!

Oct. 13, 2006 - That is the truth!!!!!!

I have a daughter who is also FAE and drug exposed. When she was in public school (special ed) she scribbled and did nothing else. They let her set her day and didn't ask much of her. They told me in her IEP that she was mentally retarded. Well, I brought her home to school her (they thought I was nuts) and expected something from her and she is now reading, writing, and doing addition and subtraction facts. She is still special but definately not the person they made her out to be. GOD is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are doing a wonderful job with your son!!! I am still praying for your adoption and your family!!

Blessings,
Carrie
