about me
Welcome to my brain-notebook! I am a 17 yr-old Christian girl who loves being at home and serving her family. I am interested in homemaking, homeschooling, illustrating children's books, drawing, painting, writing, singing, playing the piano, crocheting, working/playing outside, and enjoying life to its fullest. I love studying History, art, music, biology, and, well. . . everything! Some of my long-term goals are becoming a godly woman, getting married and raising a godly family, illustrating children's books, and maybe even writing a few books! I hope you enjoy your visit at my blog!

"For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory." - Colossians 3:3-4

just a little update

More than a week has flown by since I last posted! A lot has been going on, so here's a short and incomplete update.

I've had another art class and a meeting with my group on Saturday about the project we're working on...a kinda group illustration thingy.... I am really enjoying it and learning a lot, but it's taking a lot more time than I expected. Not sure if I'll audit any more classes until I graduate...we'll see.

The results for the IAHE art contest are in. I just received them yesterday. Well...

I won champion in my category!

My friend Kate won champion in her category!

Since the portfolio category includes four pieces as one entry, it is a slightly larger category than the others. So Kate won champion over everything, except the portfolios, in which I won champion! Also, in the K-3 division, my cousin (a distant cousin, but a darling cousin) won champion, too!

All winter long - let me repeat that - ALL WINTER LONG - I did not get get sick.  Hallelujah!

I did not get sick once! Maybe a little quickly-cured sore throat - But I did not get sick!

So, it's the first day of Spring, and all last night I could tell my throat was getting dryer and scratchier, and when I finally rolled out of bed and into the shower, I knew. I have a little cold. My eyes are still a little watery, but hopefully with all this echinacea, vitamin C and kefir I should be as right as rain in no time!

(For more info on kefir, click here, and here.)
-------
I can't wait until I have all these art assignments done soon! By then I should be able to start up the drawing blog, work on anatomy (for drawing), and oil painting and pastels! That will be so fun!

Have a beautiful Spring!!!

Oh Breezy! What a wonderful day! I'm so excited for you!! And Kate!! And you distant cousin!! :) I can't wait to get the magazine so I can see Kate's entry!

I'm sure you are ready for a brake from "Art class" and the demands of the school year. But, you have worked so hard and it must feel good to look back on this year and see all that you've accomplished. I am so proud of you! Sorry I'm gushing with happiness over your accomplishments. :)

Have a wonderful night!
Love,
Marie :)

Nice!
