"For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory." - Colossians 3:3-4
some Scripture
Posted on May 30, 2008
I have a lot of "favorite" passages of Scripture, but I wanted to post this today. It's just amazing how clear-cut and to-the-point Scripture can be, and that we don't have to guess about everything. It's simply beautiful.
Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with and unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,
"I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM;
AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD , AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
"Therefore, COME OUT FROM AMONG THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord.
"AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN;
And I will welcome you,
"And I will be a father to you,
And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,"
Says the Lord Almighty.
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1)

Wow, that's so true! When I read a verse the first time, sometimes I think, "That's so confusing!" and then I go back and read it a second or third time and realize, "Hey, that's not so confusing after all!"
Anyways, lovely post!

I too have a lot of "favorite" verses. I've been taking the time to write them out and hang them around the house. They remind me of different things, how a should be acting, how I should React to things, God's promises, etc. This one you posted is very clear to be separate and different from the world and its ways. Sometimes it seems harmless to blend small things together, but it leads to no good. Thanks for the encouraging reminder, Bre!

You know my mom and I were just discussing the first part of that verse. It's funny you posted this. :) I agree with you Scripture really being easy to understand. I think people complicate them on purpose so no clear answer is made.
