"For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory." - Colossians 3:3-4
for my Daddy
Posted on June 15, 2008
Dear Daddy,
I can't tell you how much I love you. You are such a great man and I am honored to claim you as my father.
Everything you do for me is out of love for me and desiring the best for my life. From the spankings and generous gifts, to the long talks and kind words; you've done so much for me!
Thank you for reading the Bible and praying with us every day. Thank you for supporting Mom in our home education, and stopping at nothing to give us the best. It means more than you know.
Thank you for asking me to do things for you and with you, going camping, fixing your salad, moving furniture - I love being a part of your life, and you a part of mine.
Thank you for making me form good habits, even when it seems I'll never get it.
Do you know what I just love? When we're sitting in the living room, I'm drawing or reading, and you're reading a deep theological book. And when you come across something beautiful or profound, you'll share it with me so we can learn and enjoy it together. Thank you for helping me pursue a relationship with Christ.
I also want to thank you for things that may seem small. Like bringing home donuts, going on bike rides, and taking us to the ice cream shop.
You have always encouraged me in my interests and gifts, even when I want to head one way and need to go another. Thanks for keeping me on course and in the center of God's will for my life.
Your prayers for me, those I've heard and those I've never heard, have been a blessing in my life. God is so good. Never stop praying.
You'll always be my Daddy.
Love always,
-Breezy

Hi! What a sweet letter Breezy! That's so awesome that you have such a great dad!
Thanks for your comment...I pronounce my name Bre-anna...but I like Bre-onna, too! :-)
I don't know if I'm a good one to give you a "spiritual" opinion on the ministry of music...but I do know a good example of someone who constantly uses music for God's glory. A man at my church, Mr. Larry, is an AMAZING musician. He plays the trumpet and the piano, and he plays a lot by ear. He can literally look at a hymn, and just add all this cool stuff. Listening to him play for church is a real challenge to me because, if he wanted to, he seriously could turn the worship time into a concert. But he PURPOSEFULLY HOLDS BACK, because he doesn't want it to be about him. He makes the hymns beautiful, but he wants to serve through music and give glory to God, so he doesn't play all that he COULD play. I struggle with this personally...I'm not super good at playing hymns yet, but I still have a tendency to want to add all these "trills and frills," just so that people will look at me and think..."wow, she's good!" Not that there's anything wrong with making a song pretty, of course, but I really need to work on my attitude, and make sure I'm doing it for God.
My mom would be a great person to ask about this...her blog is http://chatswithanoldlady.blogspot.com . She is such a godly example to me, and she always reminds me that I need to play for God.

O Breezy!
That was a wonderful tribute to you dad! You are very blessed. I just got caught up on your blog. You've been busy. :) I, of course, love the artwork! But you knew that. And I loved the piece on What you'd be looking for in a future husband. God is blessing you with wisdom beyond your years. :) May He continue to do so.
Love,
Marie :)

You're very welcome, dear Breezy. I was very sad to hear that she went to be with Jesus and I will continue to pray for the Kligmann family. :/
I am doing well. I hope you are too. Have you all finished with 4-H yet? or is that thru the summer?
I hope to get a comment from you on my new blog soon.

Your letter made me cry. You are very blessed to have such a wonderful father. While God did not see fit to place me in such a family, I rejoice that my children will have the kind of relationship with their father that I missed out on. All father's- good or bad- play an important part in the life of their daughters. It is good to see that your father took that responsiblity seriously. Please thank him for me. The world needs more of such men.
