Well we are in a New Year and thought that I would stop in to update....
We are going to be participating in a web project called " Westward Ho" which is a virtual journey of a pioneer trip to Oregon. This is going to be our first time participating but it looks like so much fun! A friend of ours had mentioned it and we just typed it in the google search engine and found it easily.
Our other news is that we have a dog !!! It is a long haired chiahuaha...right now we are fostering her for a few weeks while the family is in transistion....getting us prepared for getting our own dog!
Anyway I hope to post a bit more frequently here in the New Year with sharing recipes and other tidbits of our Mountain Life and Urban Homesteading adventures!
Blessings

Nov. 5, 2006 Creative Learning
I love scrapbooking…it is fun to create and put together family pictures…I am a beginner, but already am hooked on this new creative arts. There are so many things to learn about scrapbooking, and the various techniques. They can be very complicated or basic, and they still turn out GREAT! Once I get my digital camera working and learn how to upload photos, I will share some with you!

Oct. 27, 2006 Mountain Greetings
Greetings,
We have been working hard the past few weeks….life seems to fly by so quickly and there never seems to be enough time in a day to get all the chores done.
My oldest daughter was working in a hotel, but quit her job as it was too much for her when she is finishing her last year of high school. She has been working quite hard, doing extra studies so that she can get into the university program for engineering.
My youngest has been working hard in culinary arts...she loves to cook and has been experimenting with various recipes lately....some turn out GREAT, some are a work in progress.
We have been working on creating a home based business….I work as a life skills coach and have facilitated workshops for women who want to become entrepreneurs. We were part of a collective working from a local organization, as a community development project. But now we have registered as our own business just last week. We have been networking with other women and are going to be having our first workshop on November 16th. We are excited about this new venture. I have also become a Creative Memories Scrapbook Consultant, and want to incorporate this into our workshops. That way we can have the best of both worlds and have fun creating some interesting heritage albums for families as well.
Life continues to be busy for us. We are now in the autumn season, and we are busy preparing for the upcoming holidays… there is always lots of projects to do, I am thinking that this year I would like to make some home made candles for the holidays to give as gifts. I am going to be going to Michaels Craft Store next week to check out supplies.
Anyway hope that everyone is enjoying the change in season, and we will share more updates as we continue on our journey.
Blessings, Kimberley

Oct. 5, 2006 New Beginnings
Well we are starting a new season in our life... embarking on a life learning journey together. I am always amazed at myself when I venture into new learning opportunities for our family...not sure why, but it always brings a sense of "ahhh" yes I am never too old to gather new knowledge to continue to move forward in our life journey..
There have been so many mountains in our life to climb...challenges to face and overcome, crossroads to choose from, and create a new path to follow...and yet we still come out standing at the end of it all.
We are now in the autumn season and with that brings many new beginnings in our lives...a new direction in life learning, creating a home based business, and discovering new income opportunites through out network connections. Thus creating a new life path that seems to be working for us.
We tend to follow a more "unschooling" learning path...as this embraces all aspects of our life together. We are trying to create an urban homestead, as we use to live in the country and loved it, but needed to move to the city to work outside the home to bring an income into the household. We are living in a house, with a backyard, and attempted to grow a garden, but not so successful this year as we got started a bit late. Next year we will be able to start at the beginning of the garden season. We did manage to grow some herbs, and will definitely be doing that again next year. Hopefully enough to create some herbal crafts as well.
We will share more as we continue to grow and explore on our life journey from the mountain view!
