STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

I think we need to try to organize this place a little better. First thought, is a group really necessary, or does it just add confusion? Teachers know what were teaching, students know what were learning….do we have to write it down? Does it really matter? Students don’t need to be admins on the blog, they can post their replies in comments or PM their teachers.
Also, I think we should have a category where teachers post just a list of the classes and what time reports/assignments are due. The posts fall lower in the list as other’s write, so if we have just one place where we have a simple “Language Arts Report due next Monday” “Science Experiment due next Thursday” it would be way simpler, and of course we continue to post actual lessons in their appropriate category.
Next thing I would like to say is thins, I thing we need motivation. No one is going to say “You have to have this done period” we just aren’t going to say that to our students. And really, we should’nt either. So, I think if we want to actually do something (because we have come a ways, this is a great blog) we should try to use our extra curricular activities and show them off. Speech, Drama, Dance, Debate, Art, and Choir should all be publisized. I know everyone can see it on the HSB homepage, but we should fund a way to make it so we’re excited because lots of people will be viewing our talents. Lesson’s wise. We need rewards. Something I once heard of was when a student exceeded expectations and did very well with his/her studies, they were given a “homework pass” so in this case we could skip a lesson and not feel bad about it! I think we need to add motivation! What do you students think? Teachers?
Also, please utilize all the categories. There is study hall, I would like to see the students coming together and sharing what they’re learning, do some uncalled for things. Don’t wait to be asked to do a presentation on something you learned! And teachers, just so the BOD can keep up with the advancments and declines of the MSR, please PM either Me, Musicallamb, Daclone, or Jasmine (i think she is the other BOD) to give us updates on how it is going. Thses updates only need to be recieved once a week.
I will conlclude by writing down the list of classes, everyone make sure you are clear as to what you ought to be doing. Make sure you are teaching all your classes.
