About NC Homeschool”ology”
This is the Pagethat will tell you everything you ever wanted to know aboutthe blog
“North Carolina Homeschool”ology”!
The blog was originallya part of the “Homeschool Nations” which was the brainchild of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine (TOS) anda blog hostedby “Homeschool Blogger”.
The Purpose of the Homeschool Nations Blogswas to connect Homeschoolers with each other and with resources in their State that would help them to teach their children at home and encourage them in their educational journey!
Each State and Country was representedby ablog and a volunteer blogger updated the blogs with information, announcements and field trip ideas or answered questions for Homeschoolers who were new, or simply new to that area.
Who Am I?
I am MeritK and I took over blogging here from Tami Fox back in February of 2008 while I was still fairly new to NC myself! I am a former teacher and have been Homeschooling our 3 children from the beginning (for 11 years now). Iserve on our support group’s leadership team and lead our Homeschool 4-H Club, as well as being a community volunteer and assistingwith a Teen Program at our Community Center each week. I also host a New Homeschooler’s program each Summer for those who are thinking of Homeschooling, those who are new Homeschoolers and to help refresh those who have been Homeschooling for a while!
The North Carolina blog has been a great way to connect with other Home Educators and with Homeschool Support Groups all over our State. There are so many good resources & field trip ideas that I discovered while Blogging here on the NC State Blog.
As you may know, Homeschool Blogger recently changed over to a newPlatform andjust prior tothat change, they decided to turn over the Homeschool Nations Blog sponsorship to those of us who wished to continue with the Homeschool Nations “tradition”. The name had to change and so theHomeschool Nations NC Blog, became North Carolina Homeschool “ology”.
It is my hope that this blog will continue to be informative and be a blessing to others. I am thankful for the Old Schoolhouse Magazine’s continued dedication to helping Homeschoolers to connect!
Iplan toorganize the blog so that it is betterthan ever with the new Blogging Platform by Word Press. There is a new search feature which I hope will enable Homeschoolers to find their county even more easily now.
The new HSB system is also very interactive so I also hope to be able to add more NC blogs to my blog roll as I discover you!
The changes have caused some compatibility issues with my PC, but I hope to iron that out and be able to continue to update this blog regularly.
