Always Use Your Own Discretion!
Whenyou first make the decision to Homeschool your children, lots of people will try to tell you what to do! Suddenly, everyone is an expert on your kids and wants to share with you why a Home Based Education will ruin their social lives, destroy your family and is probably eventhe major cause of Global warming!
Just take a deep breath – always remember to use your own discretion – you know your family and your children’s needs better than anyone and there are a lot of resources that can help to equip you to meet those educational and spiritual needs!
Through your years of Homeschooling, you & I will always need to remember to USE OUR OWN DISCRETION.
As you maneuver the myriad of voices on the Internet and in your Homeschool Support Group (you do have a Homeschool Support Group right?)who want to tell you the BEST way to Homeschool your children or want to SELL you their curriculum or their services, appreciate their interest in helping, but always rely on your own best judgement.
That goes for my Blog too! I offer information and my own opinions about things here and I hope that you find the resource valuable, but I am by no meansTHE expert on homeschooling your children~ God gave that job to you!
I love to post about events and activities in our State, and I do check out all the links that I post here. I have even been blessed to get to know a little bit about some of the people whose products and blogsI post aboutas well, but Homeschooling has become a good “market niche” and once that happens, lots of people “out there” will want to tell you howshould spend your Homeschool Budget. So although I post something here, always check it out for yourself and feel free to comment to let me know if you find out something that I didn’t know about about a site or item,or if you just do not agree with me. (Really – I mean it!)
I always try to be sure that what I post is a legitimate offer or event, but I guess, that I could be wrong someday (just so you know it doesn’t happen often -lol) !
I promise to always disclose any interest I have in posting something here, such as contests I might win, orproduct reviews where often I am given the item free by the author, publisher or creator of a product in order to give mypersonal opinion of it and post it here for you to read. Sometimes I just like something that I purchased myself and want to let you know about it because it might work for your kids.
The Blog is a work in progressand since I Homeschool too, I do not have as much time as I like to indulge in my creative hobbies such as blogging (plus I have3 blogs and2 Yahoo Groups that I maintain and I am the webmaster for my Homeschool Support Group’s Website and Moderator for several other Yahoo groups too) so I hope that you will check back, or email me if you have questions, suggestions or want to have me announce something for you.
Thanks, as always, for reading and putting up with my quirks~ Merit K
