I love your quote! So true! :-)

I completely understand about the "Christmas brain." That is one of the many reasons why we are taking a break from the "formal" work and just concentrating on Advent. The kids are getting work done, but it is a different kind of work and gets them to focus on what is important this time of year. It is also a good break. I needed it as much as they did, I think! :-)

Hope you are having a great week!
Many blessings,
Lisa

Thank you. It was a perk that we were told about when the county joined with UHC in 1-2011 but the county is switching for 2012 so we won't have that perk anymore :( It really does pay off in the end and with many bloggers using rafflecopter it makes it much easier and faster to enter. I wish I kept track but the percentage of winning has been fairly high for me, I have won several of one contests but the extras I've turned down out of fairness to others.

I think it is fantastic that your finding ways to provide Christmas presents so frugally! I am very impressed! I hadn't heard of earning Amazon points for filling out surveys. How did you find about your health insurance opportunity?

That is neat about contests too. I've only entered 1 or 2 in my life. Makes sense that if you enter a lot, you'll win occasionally, which is great!

I have never heard of this version, I struggle with understanding the bible a lot. Even with other versions I have tried reading. I love that the website has a feature to look up verses that I am struggling to understand, that alone is very helpful for me! Id love to see the whole thing :0)

I do have the adult version and I share your concerns. I mean, one possible thing is that the entire thing is made up to write a book that they hoped would sell well (and it has). I hope that isn't true, but it is possible. I don't really think that, but a healthy skepticism is in order (I think) when someone is claiming visitation to heaven or hell (there are books about both out there).

One very little thing that caught my attention was that in the adult verson, the boy said that Jesus had red in the center of his hands. That's the conventional view of crucifixion, but I understand that in real crucifixion, the nails were driven through the wrists (based on archeological evidence.) So it seems like that was inaccurate detail.

Also, he was VERY young and the whole "story" came out for months following his emergency surgery. I have to wonder if possibly some of his "visions" were imagination or dreams or based on various conversations he had with his family.

So...it is an interesting book but I'm not accepting it as fully true.
