at home, on fire

a couple more things

so, I was making kraft dinner (and it is too called that sarah) when it hit me ... they hit me, to be precise.

I have two more spastic things that I regularly do that I must add to my list of eight.  Here goes.

1.  I am always trying to make the "perfect" kraft dinner, and it eludes me.  I have a happy memory (only one) of being babysat by Mrs. Stacey and Jason's mom.  I always hated playing with Jason.  There was a hole in the floor for some reason, and it went straight down to the basement.  He repeatedly threw the best Fisher Price toys down it.  I was convinced I was next.  (he did actually push me down the basement stairs once)  So, I was always trying to watch tv with his mom instead of playing like the 5 year old that I was.  She never let me, though, because she was always watching Days of Our Lives.  I became slightly addicted to that show once I was in grade 8.  I have recovered completely, without a twelve step program.

But, one day, she made the best bowl of K.D. ever and I have been trying to replicate it since ... to no avail.  Today's attempt was just as so-so as the last.

2.  I believe that my favourite saying to my first born, in particular, is "I don't feel sorry for you"

should you feel sorry for me?

the first picture has Jonam rolling on the grass because he had run into the car mirror and refused to get up for a family picture. I think you caught my facial expression quite adequately.
the second one is Jonam, in action, telling you what you should really be doing with your camera ... you should have put the strap on your wrist, right?
perhaps if I took the time to just take his advice, my life would run much more smoothly ...

You mean MAC AND CHEESE?!? I mix ketchup into mine and then sprinkle McCormick's steak seasoning on it. YUM.

Kraft. That is something you do in the Kraft room. No wonder you can't perfect it!

Aug. 23, 2007 - Kraft Dinner by any other name would still be as unhealthy for you

Posted by bestsister

That was my tribute to Shakespeare for the day. In our house it often gets called "cheesy noodles" for the times we buy the generic grocery store kind. Also, it is less obvious to those who listen in on our conversations. "Cheesy noodles" is less condemning than "Kraft Dinner". The name "Macaroni and Cheese" is reserved for my homemade version with whole wheat noodles, tomatoes, and a whole whack of extra old cheddar....I may just need to go to the grocery store today and pick up a few things.

Aug. 24, 2007 - Try the President's KD

Posted by Jeremy

I find that the President's Choice (or equivalent "Master's Choice" or "Our Compliments") brand White Cheddar "mac & cheese" far superior to the namebrand stuff. In the PC brand, the noodles are actually macaroni. The cheese is also mostly cheese. I don't think the neon yellow powder in KD is actually cheese. And, the noodles aren't curved in Kraft Dinner. Who ever heard of straight macaroni?!? I have also used the steak pepper and ketchup. Rocks. As for Barb's genuine mac & cheese, I'm coming over for dinner...
