A Cookie Banana Milk Shake

Ok, I am here with a really really goooooooood recipe and here it is........
Banana Cookie Milk Shake
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will need:
One pack of Oreos
Vanilla ice-cream
Two Bananas
and Milk
You will also need:
A Blender
First put in your Oreos as many as you want ( me and Pie put in 15 Or 16 ) and four scoops of Vanilla Ice-cream, Blend that up then ad about three of four cups of milk and two bananas. Blend that up and Voile you have A Banana Cookie Milk shake. If you have any recipes or think we need to change any thing gut tell us in a personnel message.

Puppy Chow, Anyone?

So the name doesn't sound so appetizing, but it's actually really tasty!  Want to try it?
 After I tasted this snack years ago, I've always wanted to make it myself.  I was real excited when I finally learned how!  Let me share it with you:

Puppy Chow

Ingredients you'll need:

1/3 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter (about half a stick)
1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (I suppose you could use white chocolate, too...I'm going to try it soon ^_^)
9 cups Crispix or Chex cereal
2 cups confectioner's (also known as powdered) sugar


Tools you'll need:

A medium or small-sized deep frying pan
A wooden spoon
A large bowl (large enough to hold almost all of the ingredients above)
A large bag (I think the brown paper bags work best)


Instructions:

First get out your frying pan and wooden spoon and mix the peanut butter, butter (you might want to slice it into smaller pieces first), and chocolate chips together on medium heat until they're melted.  This should only take a few minutes.
Next, scrape out the mixture into the large bowl.  Open the cereal box and pour 9 cups of it into the bowl, then stir it all together with a spoon.
Continue stirring until each piece of cereal is nicely covered in the chocolate-butter-peanut butter mixture.  (Here's the fun part coming up!)
Measure two cups of confectioner's sugar and drop them into the paper bag.  Also pour the cereal from the bowl into the bag, shut the bag up tight, and shake it!  Give it a really good shake, until all of the cereal is covered in sugar.  Place it in a bowl or other container and serve at parties, meetings, for desert, or just for a yummy snack.  Mmm-mmm!

Get Decorative!

Decorating is so much fun, especially when it comes to cakes!  Here are a few things you can do to make your desert look and taste so much better:

1 - Add strawberries!  They're so tasty, especially with chocolate added.  Cut the top off, then arrange them however you like around the cake.  Cookie and I like to cut each one in thin slithers and place them around the cake's edges.
2 - Add sprinkles, chocolate chips, or M&Ms for an extra fun look and a tasty crunch.  They don't have to be perfectly placed --- just sprinkle some on!
3 - Use food coloring.  It usually isn't very noticeable if you mix it into your cake, but it's great in icing.  If you want, you can split the icing into separate bowls before you put the food coloring in, then make a number of colored icings.  It's always fun making your cake different colors.
4 - If you're using layers, try stacking different kinds of cake (for instance, there can be one vanilla layer and one chocolate on top of that.  Or, if you have enough cake, you can even make a whole pattern of different layers!
5 - Microwave your icing until it's hot and melted.  Dip a spoon into it and drizzle it over the cake's sides.  It doesn't have to be even.
6 - Be creative; you can make your cake into a house, a beach, an animal, an airplane, even a person...you name it!  You can use blue jell-O or icing for water, half of a large marshmallow for a nose, or gummy bears for tiny people.  Go crazy!
7 - As always, have fun!  If any of these decorating tips are too hard for you, don't get frustrated; make a plain cake.  It'll still taste just as good.  ;)

Lemon-Berry Cake

What you'll need:

 

 

1 easy-to-make boxed vanilla cake mix  

Large eggs

Vegetable Oil

Water

Lemon icing

A microwave

Strawberries / raspberries

 

 

What to do:

 

Follow the instructions on the cake mix box after pouring the mix into a large bowl (the box will also tell you how long to bake your cake).  We prefer using a 13x9 inch cake pan.  When the cake is out of the oven, stick a toothpick into it's middle to see if it's done (if there are pieces of doughy cake batter attached to the toothpick, you'll have to place the cake back in the oven for about 5 more minutes).  Wait about 10 minutes for the cake to cool off once it's out of the oven.  After the cake's done cooling off, get the raspberries or strawberries (if you're using strawberries, cut them into fourths and remove their green stems first) and sprinkle them over the surface of the cake so that they're touching every part of it.  Now, take the lemon icing and place it in the microwave for 1 minute or so (or until it's melted).  Remember to remove the lid before doing all this, and to place a paper towel over the icing container.  Carefully tip the icing container over the cake and slowly drizzle it over the berries until they're all covered.  Wait for the icing to harden, and then.....you're done!   (Enjoy!)

Chocolatey Pretzel Sticks

       

 

 

Here is an easy and delicious Christmas (or anytime) recipe you might enjoy:

 

What you'll need:

 

Tall pretzel sticks

White, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate chips (if you like you can make some of each!)

Red and green sprinkles, mixed

Peppermints or candy canes (original peppermint flavor)

Wax paper or tin foil

Large baking pan

Large, deep, frying pan

 

What to do:

 

First, get out your baking pan and put a sheet of wax paper or tin foil over it.  Lay it to the side for when you're ready to use it.  Open up the bags of pretzel sticks and chocolate.  Pour the kind (or kinds) of chocolate into the deep frying pan (if you're using many different kinds, pour them into separate pans---Cookie and I usually use white and semi-sweet chocolate).  If you're using chocolate cubes, we suggest chopping them in half before dumping them into the pan.  Set your stove on low heat and place the frying pan over it.  Now you can get a large spoon and stir the chocolate until it melts (this might take about five or ten minutes).  Once you've melted the chocolate so it's nice and creamy, get a pretzel stick and dip one or both sides of it into the chocolate.  Once you've done this, set it on the pan.  Get the peppermints or candy canes and put them into a zip-lock bag after unwrapping them, so you can crush them into small bits with a spoon.  Sprinkle the pieces of the mints onto the chocolate end of the pretzel stick (if you have red and green sprinkles, you can do that instead of the mints).  Continue to do this until all of the chocolate-covered pretzel sticks are done.  Remember to set them in neat lines so they aren't touching each other.  You may make several pans, if you like.  When all of this is done, put the pans into a refrigerator or freezer so your dessert won't melt.  When it's ready, you can take it out of the freezer or fridge and serve it to your family, friends, or guests (they're good for any event).  Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!

Welcome to Our Kitchen!

Hello, and welcome to the blog of two cooking friends (we go by Cookie--my friend who you'll soon meet---and Pie, myself).  We live quite close by to each other, and often go to one another's houses and experiment with cookies, cakes, and more.  Friends and family have recommended sharing a few of our recipes (all desserts, so far) with other people through this blog, and we decided it sounded like a good idea.  We're still working on a layout, and will try to post some of our desserts and ideas as often as we can.  Will write again soon!
