Shalom

Time has gone by so fast for us here.  Been long while since I have last posted.  We have moved into a newer place and been here for over a year now and loving it.  We are now down to just one child at home and one that we are homeschooling.   We are in the highschool years with this child too.  Our oldest son soon to be 23 yrs old is serving in the US Navy,  our 2nd child and another son who is 21 yrs old  is serving in the US Air Force, and our 3rd and last child a daughter is 15 yrs old and we are still homeschooling her.  I have condensed down things but also found that this house was not as roomy in the main areas of the house but found that our spare room we are using as an office and we took the closet and made it into the storage closet for things we use for our schooling.  We also have the basement which is a mess but getting it cleaned and organized slowly but surely.  Here are some photos of the closet hope this helps you with your organizing of your supplies.

blessings

Yes, again haven’t written in a long while been busy with many things in our lives. First my parents spent the summer here visiting and we all enjoyed that and also helping me purge things out of the house.   Then my son found out he is leaving for bootcamp on January 25, 2010, then my mil was in the hospital and she was very ill she passed away on October 19th, 2009.  It was a very tough time for my husband and the kids and me .  We had to go to the showing and then to the funeral …. we had a very hard time like said before.

My mom came out to support my husband with the loss of his mother.  Then we had the holidays sneak up on us and now we are in the process of moving into a new house.  I am soo thankful we homeschool cuz through all this my daughter has been learning not like the world intends us to learn but she is learning the things that Yahweh has for her to learn and she is understanding her math now aand I am soo happy for her.  She is taking off on many things. She started to learn Japanese and she loves it…. Any ways thought would get everyone caught up when I can I will start posting here more often … blessings to you all :)

Hmmm what should I call this entry…

It has been awhile since I have updated things here.  I have been soo busy with things and spending time with my family.  This summer has gone by soo quickly but has been a blessing.  So many blessings here. First my oldest is stil in the US Navy and doing very well, my 2nd son who is 19 yrs old joined the US AirForce and he is right now waiting for his orders on when he is to leave for bootcamp.  He scored really well on his ASVAB test also.  He could gotten into rocket science if he wanted to but that is just not his cup of tea.  I can’t remember all he was wanting to do but they were all good jobs and also he had failed his color blind test.  I am still homeschooling but now I am down to one.  She is the baby of the family and she just started highschool (still homeschooling)

I have been with family since June of this summer,  my parents came and visited and helped me purge things out of my life physically, mentally and especially spiritually.  The visit was a beautiful blessing. Plus my parents gave me some good books for homeschooling.  I have been blessed this year with a garden small one and a container garden. It has been a blessing to our family supplying us with fresh produce. I have also been learning to can and dry and freeze things poperly with my food saver roflol.  My dh has been blessing me with new toys to make my life a bit easier.  I have been enjoying the sunshine and my clothes line, for I have been using it every time I wash clothes.  I have also learned to make my own hand soaps, laundry soap, deodorant, and hair conditioners.  My daughter is not happy with the changes but yet she is learning.  We are simplifying out lives here and spending more time with the scriptures and almost next to nothing with the TV here we dont’ care for it.  woo hoo that is a great thing.  We have a lot of new books to read and more on the way .  I am excited about this new year of new things and learning with just my daughter.  What a blessing

Are you busy as a bee or busy as the world…. A bit ago I went to a homeschool group meeting and met some moms that were either just getting started with homeschooling their children that were young or been homeschooling for awhile now.

The subject we spoke about was how to keep your house in order, how to keep things going with homeschooling ect… I had found that some of the younger moms were trying to do it all being busy as the world…. Go to library, go to play group, to to mommy and me, go to the store, clean the house, go to work (some had jobs), go to here go to there ect….  I  found my self getting  tired just listening to them.  I asked them how they felt the end of the day and what you think was wrong ….. for some said they are soo worn out and sooo tired and ect…. and worried they are not teaching their children …

Here is what I think you can take it or you can leave it.  First and formost Why are you homeschooling? Is it a trend that is popular or is it something that weighs on your heart that you are to educate your children at home? Are you just trying to be like a friend or are you wanting to teach your children and keep them safe from what the world has to offer? ….. I have found that most moms truely are homeschooling for they know it is best for their children.  But, I have found some that are not.  It saddens me.  Anyways …. We are to also remember homeschooling is not like public school and we don’t have to do it like the schools or like the world says it has to be done. Yes, we are to obey the laws of our states, but we are to remember the children are the most important thing not what such and such thinks.  We don’t need to take johnny to play group, we don’t have to take them to the library story time, we don’t have to run ourselves ragged.  We are to be enjoying the time we have to educate our children, we are to enjoy the time we have with them for that time is like a blink of an eye and then poof it is gone then you sit back and look to see what you have accomplished with them and …. I don’t know about you but I don’t want any regrets… Do you?

So, are you busy at a bee or are you busy like the world? Something to sit down and really think about.

PS this is three things that have helped me through homeschooling and raising children and ect…

1. Breathe

2. K.I.S.S. – KEEP IT SIMPLE SISTER

3.  RELAX AND ENJOY

Shalom to you all,

We have been so busy here with many things going on and a lot of learning and expecailly mom :)    Anyways, we had a great time during the months of November and December.  We worked on puging things out of our lives toys and junk we don’t need.  if not needed we get rid of it.  We are to focus more in the scriptures and less on the things of the world.  We have been cleaning house spiritually and physically.  I am soo happy with all that has been accomplished in our home.  We have gotten rid of many many many boxes of things that the children have out grown and that they knwo they will not need anymore and things that we realized were not good for our family to have and we let it go.  We are feeling the burden leaving and we are soo much more happy with all we have accomplished.  Yet there is sooooo much more to do …. We are continuing with our purging and things to get out of the house I didn’t realze we had this much stuff …. Well when all boxed up you don’t see it until you take it out of the boxes lol

Well that is the one thing we have been doing.  The other thing is looking for a place to move to this is taking a bit longer than dh thought(giggle) but enjoying the time looking.  He has also been more often home with his family and enjoying his time home :) We as well are enjoying him home.  We are so blessed with him home.

Also Hanukkah was very different this year .. we didn’t do gifts for each day since our children are older; so we took the last day of Hanukka and shopped for gifts.  We did this as a family and we had a great time doing it.  Our son who si 19yrs old bought himself clothes, a coat, really nice shirts, and other things he needed nothing of wants or somethings to entertain himself.  Daughter bought some games and music. Our Time together has been a blessing and a joy.

thank you for reading and blessings to you.
