Hello all,
Well, Frank started his famous "deck in a day" today. He calls it a deck, I call it a porch. He's from the west, (Spokane, WA) and I'm from the east (N. Attleboro, MA). Potatoe, Potatoe....
He was at it at about 8:30 this morning. By noon it was framed. At about 2:30 this afternoon, it was 97 degrees so he took a nap. When he got up at 4 or so, he put the decking on, the steps were moved to the place I wanted them and the cross members/supports were almost done. He had made the porch from an 8'x12' to a 16'x16'. So now, the porch is larger than my 5th wheel RV. But that's ok. I love my porch and spend a LOT of time on it.
Tomorrow he will be finished with the larger "deck/porch" except for the rails. Since I want them sort of fancy or decorative, they will be done probably in the next 2 weeks or so. I already had the out side furniture arranged on the unfinished deck this evening. Frank will have to move EVERYTHING tomorrow morning to finish, but I just had to see what the furniture would look like on the porch. As we sat and watched the sun set, it was truly beautiful. My fountain lights had just turned on, the sky was darkening purples and pinks and we were sitting, drinking iced-tea laughing and loving and enjoying each other's company. Truly beautiful. I love that man SO much.
I would love to put a picture in today, of the before's and during's, but alas I've forgotten how to insert pictures and my Suzy isn't here to help...Bryan isn't here to help either. Or Kent....he's gone too. The Pood is also gone, but he knows NOTHING about computers! So the pictures will have to wait until they come for a visit. Then you will see what a genius my Frank is.
Have a wonderful tomorrow. Life on my new and improved porch is great... |
