The end of a blog, the beginning of a whole new picture adventure.

May 2nd, 2009

Recently, I haven’t been able to keep up with my blog. Therefore, I don’t really have many people reading it. I’m going to sort of turn it into an online journal, with pictures and updates on my life, rather than a blog. That way, friends and relatives can read.  I’m opening it up to non homeschoolblogger users, but please try to keep it notanonymous. One other thing: If you’ve been reading my blog, or just stop by, could you leave a comment so that I know who all is reading my blog? Thanks!

Okay, here’s my first journal post. It’s just going to be some pictures and explanations about my recent life.

Recently, I went to my grandparent’s house for a week to help out with spring-related things. (Shampooing carpets, waxing floors, planting flowers…) I also took some pictures while at their rural cabin out in Southern Illinois.

One of my grandparent’s two cats, Friskey is about three years old.

A small dragonfly perched on a branch seemed to be just waiting for me to take his picture. It was still there when I came back outside with my camera.

That’s all for now. I’ll do the pictures in stages. (Right now, I can’t seem to upload anymore, and besides, brownies are waiting!)

The invigorating chill of an early spring afternoon. The mysterious, shade dappled woods, filled with a sense of life, vibrancy, mystery. The trilling birds, the cool, moist earth beneath bare feet, the life that fills the world. How do you describe the majestic wonder of the Lord’s creation, the vibrant hues of brilliant colour? How do you make everyone feel the beauty of spring out in rural Illinois?

This morning I just came home from staying at my grandparent’s house for about a week, helping my grandma with spring cleaning. I scrubbed carpets, took down and washed curtains, washed and waxed my grandparent’s kitchen floor, along with helping my grandma plant some of her spring flowers.

At different intervals, when my grandma gave me a break, I would take some pictures. However, I could not capture the breathtaking beauty of delicately crafted flowers, the intricate design of the shadows on the leaf-carpeted ground of the forest, the brilliant green of the various leaves, the pale powder blue of the sky with its white cotton candy clouds.

Doesn’t spring just make you marvel at the amazing power of God?

Bloggers Block

April 15th, 2009

Wow… I haven’t blogged once in a while. And I don’t really have an excuse. (Even though we have been pretty busy lately.) So… I still don’t have anything to blog about. Maybe I’ll come up with a meaningful post later on. Just for now, I logged on to let you know that I’m still alive.
