Thanksgiving week!

What a fun, family filled Thanksgiving week we had!!  Because of a death in the family, I was able to see my four cousins that I grew up with but had not seen in about 10 years!  We had a wonderful Tuesday evening of laughter and giggling!  My sides hurt for two days, we laughed so hard!  Our conversations were so very similar to what they had been as we grew up and spent time at each other's homes or at church camp each year.... only now we added children and girdles to the list of topics!!!  LOL  My mom cooked for all of us... I think we counted 26 people, 11 of them were all of our kids!  It was equally satisfying seeing all of our kids play together just like us so many years ago!  My kids wanted to know why they had never met "those" cousins!  What fun!  Just to reconnect and remember!!

Thanksgiving day was wonderful as well... my uncle, who lives overseas in Finland, was with us... we had so much fun listening to his tales of life in another country, so very far away and different from ours.  It was a quiet day, but we enjoyed the football game, playing games, watching it snow all day, the firewood crackling in the fireplace and lots of lovin'!

I truly enjoy being so close to home around the holidays... for 9 years we lived in Wisconsin, with ALL of our family living in Texas... we spent many holidays on our own or with friends... so I truly appreciate just being close to home!  To all of you out there they are not so close to home... hang in there!  There are seasons when we are  pulled away from family, they seem much longer when we are in the middle of them, but then you truly cherish the seasons when you can be close!  And to all of you that had a stressful holiday BECAUSE of family... hang in there, too!  They are the ONLY family that God gave you, be patient with them and love them through this season ANYWAY!!   LOL

I hope to include even more of our family for the Christmas holiday... my husband's dad and wife live only 3 hours from us... hoping that we can have them come for a "Christmas weekend" sometime in December...  nothing like the kids getting to see more grandparents!!

Blessings to all,

Patti

Washing Machine

Posted by Anonymous

Having replaced ours once before (and fixing many other appliances in our house - twice the dishwasher this year - I'd agree with your aunt that it's the pump. I recommend shopping local as they will usually offer advice on how to put it in and that sort of thing. However, if you want to go on line (and I'm sure your aunt has her own favorite sight), I'd recommend www.repairclinic.com. They've been right every time for diagnosis. Their part prices about average, though shipping and time are a bit of a pain for something like a washing machine. I would also recommend getting help - it's a two person job, if possible. Good luck

Thank You

Patti - thank you for visiting my blog (by way of JoAnn) and your words were an encouragement to me. I was fascinated to hear that your Uncle was telling you stories of his life. By nature I'm a historical writer and love hearing family stories at Holiday Time.

Keep on encouraging others. You are a true blessing! - jaimers

I'm so glad you were able to spend that precious time with your family and reconnect with your cousins! I had the same experience a few years back and it was a lot of fun. I have one cousin I've always been close to that lives in the same state so we are able to get together more often now. It's a great blessing!

God bless you ~ Julie

Hello

Hi. I just found your blog through the new Rod and Staff yahoo group. I like your entry about the community church service. Our church, too, had a community church service last month and I loved it. I am also Assembly of God and I love to see how others love and worship God. It is an amazing experience.

Bye for now,
Mandy
