One of the churches in our town had a  "Back To School Block Party"  and I went with one of my friends.  They gave away lots of prizes.  I won the grand prize in their drawing!   A brand new Ipod!  (My sister wants it though, so I am sharing with her.)

This summer I wanted to earn some money of my own, so my mom is helping me pick blackberries (we have a large crop in our backyard), and I am selling them at my cousin's roadside produce stand.  I work Mondays through Fridays from 3:00 until 5:30 selling blackberries.  I haven't made much money though.

I am also raising my own patch of sunflowers, but I don't want to sell the seeds. I want to plant a bigger field of sunflowers next year!

We went to St. Louis on vacation a few weeks ago.  While we were there, we went to a place called "Grant's Farm."  It was called that because at one time the farm belonged to Ulysses S. Grant.  Here is a picture of his log cabin.  It has a fence made of rifles from the Civil War.

It has a large animal preserve with lots of exotic animals. Here's the Indian House for the cows that are sacred in India.  There's some of the cows in the picture too.

The farm also has lots of animals that you can pet and feed. Here's my sister petting a minature horse.

We also got to bottle feed the baby goats.  My sister is in the background. I think a goat knocked her over.

Today my dad and I went on a fishing trip. Here's me getting ready to fish.

AS we were leaving, this is what we found on the bridge----a copperhead.  We had to walk around it very carefully.

This is my first show and tell with Mrs. Mary.  My family went to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens last weekend and I got to make pictures.  Here's the indoor cactus garden:

I saw lots of different animals in the garden. Here is a lizard--you have to look closely to see it because it blends in.

In the Japanese garden we saw Koi and turtles.

We had lots of fun.
