The Past Six Weeks

The past six weeks have been abnormally busy.  First before Christmas our Grandpa passed away.  So for the two weeks before that Mom was going out every day.  This month on the 19th Heather got married!!  They will hopefully get home tonight from their honeymoon.   We have been getting alot of snow so we aren't sure if their plane be delayed.  Also this month on the first Dad started having constant headaches and eye pressure.  So Mom took him to the doctor,  and after alot of testing  and seeing the neuroligist (probably spelt wrong) they scheduled his surgery.  He had surgery on Tuesday and got home today.  He now has 26 staples, 4 screws and a patch in his head.  For the gruesome details you can go to my mom's blog  www.homeschoolblogger.com/momofmany .  You also see pics of everthing there.

Blogs

My little sister Hilarie(1), and my little brothers Jonathan(10), Joshua(7), Jacob(6), and James(3) all have blogs now!  I know some of them can't even read yet but it works if they talk and we type.  Hilarie will just have videos on hers.

We got a new oven yesterday from our neighbors.  They are moving out next summer so they redoing their house.  They got a new oven so they gave their old one to us.  It really came as a blessing, because ours didn't work so well.  The new one is so nice it has a digital clock and timer, and the door works perfectly.  I absolutly love it, I can't wait to bake in it.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.   Ephesians 1:3 NIV

hi

This is really cool!! I got it in an email:
It was quiet that  day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn't been  heard.

The young soldier  knew it was Sunday.

As he was sitting  there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk

Just then an army  sergeant came in and said, "Why aren't you with the rest of the platoon?"

The soldier  replied, "I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord."

The sergeant said,  "Looks to me like you're going to play cards."

The soldier sad ,  "No, sir. You see, since we are not allowed to
have Bibles or other spiritual  books in this country,

I've decided to  talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards."

The sergeant asked  in disbelief, "How will you do that?"

"You see the Ace,  Sergeant? It reminds me that there is only one God.

The Two represents  the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments.

The Three  represents the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.

 Four stands  for the Four
Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

The Five is for  the five virgins there were ten, but only five of them were glorified.

The Six is for the  six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth.

The Seven is for  the day God rested after making His Creation.

The Eight is for  the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives - the eight  people God spared from the flood that destroyed the Earth.

The Nine is for  the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy. He cleansed ten, but nine never  thanked Him.

The Ten represents  the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone.

The Jack is a  reminder of Satan, one of God's first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven  for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker of eternal hell.

The Queen stands  for the Virgin Mary.

The King stands  for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.

When I count the  dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one for every day of the  year.

There are a total  of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year.

The four suits  represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Each suit has  thirteen cards - there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter.

So when I want to  talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they  remind me of all that I have to be thankful for."

The sergeant just  stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he  said, "Soldier, can I borrow that deck of cards?"

Well I hope you enjoyed it!

hello

Posted in recepies

Not much to write about today, it has been raining all day.  It is cold but I don't really mind.   I am really glad that autumn is finally here.   This summer we got a lot of zucchinis.  I only knew of one recipe,  the bread one.  So I made it in different forms, bread, bars, and muffins.   My mom found this great cookie recipe for cookies online:

Zucchini Cookies

Mix together:

1 cup grated zucchini

1tsp baking soda

1 cup sugar

 1/2 cup shortening or butter

1 egg beaten.

Stir in:

2 cups flour

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground cloves

Then drop batter by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet.  Bake 12-13 minutes at 375 degrees.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation;.  Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the  promised Holy Spirit,

Ephesians 1:13

Hi

Yesterday we went to see my Grandpa and Grandma, They're doing pretty well, his nurse was there when we arrived.  It was sad to seeing her help him into his chair.   I think he still be around for Heather's  wedding.

I am really excited because Bible study starts next Tuesday.  It is  the Precepts study on Ephesians.  I highly recomend the Precepts Bible studies.  They are awesome, they don't tell what the scriptures mean, instead they help you figure out what it means.  Their method is observation, interpretation and application.

History is a story written by the finger of God.

C.S. Lewis

Now, brothers,  I want to remind you of the gospel I preached

to you, which you recieved and on which you have

taken your stand.   By this gospel you are saved, if

you hold firmly to the word I preached to you.  Otherwise,

you have believed in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2

Hi

Hello there, sorry I haven't blogged in forever.  If only I had a better excuse than school.

But I do have some very exciting news. There is a guy who has been courting Heather for about nine months.   A couple weeks ago he asked Dad for Heather's hand in marriage.  So on Saturday he proposed to Heather and of course she said yes.   Last night they came over and picked a date and started talking about the wedding.     I am really excited for them!

A new church

We recently started going to a different church, because the one we were going to was a really long drive and it was huge and had to have two services.  The new church we are going to is pretty small.  They don't have any programs like children's church, youth group, etc.   It is very family friendly.  They have informal picnics after the service every Sunday.   They really just want to keep it simple.  It feels like a more friendly enviornment,  some of the girls in the church came and introduced themselves to me.  That never happened in the last church since it was so big.  The people in this church make us feel like they're glad we're there,  I really apperciate that.

Sing to the LORD a new song,

for he has done marvelous things;

His right hand and His holy arm

have worked salavation for Him.

The LORD has made his salvation

known

and revealed His righteousness to

the nations.

Psalm 98:1-2 NIV

Hello

It has been really weird having Dad home so much, not bad just different. He is home so much because he just lost one of his jobs. But he applied somewhere else and is very confident that he'll get the job.

The last couple of days have been really hot.  It has been in the upper 90's.  On Thursday it got up to 100!  At least it isn't cold. It is the perfect temperature in my room.  Hilarie spends alot of time in my room.  I have been giving her alot of ice to suck on to keep cool.  But we were wasting alot of paper towels for it.  So I made her ice with popsicle sticks in it, she really likes it.

We do not want you to be uniformed, brother, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia.  We were under great pressure, far beyond our ablity to endure so that we despaired. Indeed in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.     2 Corinthians 1:8-9  NIV

Hello

Today it was extremly hot!!!  To be exact 100°!!!!!!!!!!  We played in the pool alot. I chased the little boys around the yard with the hose they loved it!!

At dinner Haylee, Hollie, Joe and I  were sitting at the table,  the little boys where eating outside.  Haylee was really hyper.  Hollie and I where cracking up laughing.  Haylee kept hiding Joe's plate every time he left the table.  A couple times she hid it under the table. She was being really funny.

And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our our sufferings, so you also share in our comfort.     2 Corinthians 1:7

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today at 6:45 am while Hollie was at work she got a deep gash in her knuckle.  She said blood was dripping down her arm, she was trying keep it from dripping everywhere by catching it in her hand.  It eventualy overflowed and was dripping everywhere.  So she called Mom who went to get her, by the time they got home her knuckle had stopped bleeding.  They went to the emergency room where she got 4 shots in her finger, one tetanus shot in her shoulder and 3 x-rays and 4 stitches!!  She has to wear a finger splint on her right hand.

The 4th of July is always exciting at our house.

Two years ago Jacob swallowed a metal sheriff star about the size of a quarter.   He swallowed it perfectly so you could see the star caught in his throat on the x-ray.  They actually had to put him under anesthesia. Thankfully the star didn't puncture his throat. So he spent the 4th of July '05 in the hospital.

For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort our comfort overflows.  If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.  2 Corinthians 1:5-6
