My mission for this blog is to encourage women in our journey to be Titus 2/Proverbs 31 women. Along with posting some of the devotions I have written, I plan to share time-saving, money-saving tips. I will also be posting about working and homeschooling.

Weekly Wrap Up

~~~ From the Heart ~~~
Looking forward to having the weekend off even if it’s going to turn very cold.  It will be nice to not be sitting in the lobby, feeling the blast of cold air that hits every time the ER doors open.
~~~ On the Homefront ~~~
Haven’t gotten a whole lot done this week because I’ve been working overtime every day.  We did manage to keep on top of the laundry.

I unplugged my heated mattress pad this week.  One of the officers I work with in the ER stressed how much of a fire hazzard they are.  It’s been very cold when I go to bed at night, but I’m trying to tough it out.  I am changing to flannel sheets tonight to see if that helps me stay warm.

~~~ In the School Room ~~~
DD is doing very well with school.  She has done several writing assignments and when it is a fictional story, I always enjoy reading the stories she comes up with.  They are so entertaining.
She also finished her literature yesterday.  It’s nice to have that subject out of the way for the year.
~~~ On the Work Front ~~~
The OT I’m getting is so that I can get some practice done on the new system we will start using next month.  I am feeling much more comfortable with it, but need to keep practicing so that I can get even quicker at entering the info, knowing where to go to process different things, etc.

I did practice some during my normal shift in the ER.  However, there were a few days when it just wasn’t possible due to being so busy with patients.
The new system is called “Cerner.”  As I was talking about trying to learn it, dd said, “Don’t worry, Mom.  You’ll learn it “Cerner” or later.”  What a nut!

~~~ Working Out ~~~
Still working out.  I have modified my workouts a bit since I’m having some pain in my shoulders.  I usually dance every other day, then on the other days, I use the Wii Fit or Biggest Loser workout.
~~~ Bargain Hunting ~~~
I finally went to Hobby Lobby on Wednesday to get the fabric dd wants me to use on the bench she uses with her vanity.  Hopefully, we can get dh to help us re-do the bench this weekend.  I got 30% off on one of the fabrics and 40% on the other piece of fabric.  I also bought some beads at 50% off.  I’m going to make a bracelet with them and use it for a Christmas gift.  It will make a lovely, but inexpensive gift.
I went back to Hobby Lobby on Thursday because as I was leaving the ER that day and trying to get all of my stuff into the car, I dropped my insulated plastic cup, and it cracked.  I loved that cup too!  It had lots of purple on it, and purple is my favorite color.  I ended up buying 2 cups at Hobby Lobby.  One has bright pink, along with several other colors, plus my initial on it.  The other has zebra print on it.  I have a jacket that will match that cup VERY well!  LOL!  Anyway, I got one cup at 30% off and the other was 40% off.

~~~ In the Kitchen ~~~
I didn’t do a lot in the kitchen this week, but I did find out that the Marie Callendar pies were on sale so I bought two of the turtle pies.  One for home and one for my coworkers.  They loved it!
