This is a place for me to write about what we are doing in our homeschooling. I may add more than just homeschooling stuff, but for the most part ..... this is a glimpse into our homeschooling life.

Promised pictures
Today has gone so well for us today, both the kids are really enjoying what we are doing for school (so far). Something that we did today was an Internet Scavenger Hunt (I found this online), there is a list of questions that the kids need to find the answers to. Once they find the answers they have to open a word file and type in the answer and then copy and paste the URL where they found the answer. This is proving to be a lot of fun for the kids and is giving them much needed computer skills, there are 50 questions for them to find the answers to .... I may have to find some more questions for them once they finish these ones, lol.
So, yesterday I was telling you about the kids drawings that they did in art - we are using the Drawing Textbook as our guide for the drawing portion of our art curriculum. We started off by having the kids draw all 6 pictures that were listed in lesson 1 and then I told them to choose one of their drawings and draw it on the bottom half of the page, they could elaborate as much as they wanted on these drawings:
Josh wanted to draw a Digimon picture so I suggested to him that he draw the TV and then put the Digimon picture on the TV screen.
Charlotte's is a little hard to see because she is trying not to press so hard with her pencil - she chose to draw the birthday cake because she could really decorate that picture, lol.
Today for art the kids were working on their knitting and crocheting (fabric making), I managed to snap a couple pictures of each of them:
Josh is working on crocheting a granny square blanket - he isn't sure how big he wants to make it but he does know that he only wants to use cammo colored yarns.
Charlotte is working on knitting a scarf for her Maplelea doll, Teryn. She only has 9 more rows to go and it will be finished. If you look closely at the last picture of her you'll notice that she isn't using traditional knitting needles - she had a lot of trouble using regular knitting needles so I got her some afghan hooks and a DVD that teaches portuguese style knitting which uses a knitting pin, that's why the yarn is up by her shoulder.
