Back to School...
I have recently received remarks from public schooling kids like, "You're homeschooled! I would hate to be homeschooled!" or "Homeschooled? Don't you wish you went to school?" *grins* *breaks into a fit of convulsive laughter* The answer is no. I would NOT like to go to school, especially a high school. For instance, picture this in your minds.
…A clean white quilt pulled over a twin size bed upon which a teenage girl sits propped up with two pillows at her back. A pile of schoolbooks, an ipod sitting next to her, a bowl of cut apples at her bedside, which she sometimes munches upon, and a glass of ice tea. Not only that but the windows are opened letting a cool August breeze blow into her face accompanied with the sound of birds chirping outside her window...
I think it is the public schooling kids who should be wishing THEY were homeschooled. Not only that, but I have the best teacher who I could possibly have, one who encourages me academically and spiritually, one who has taught me throughout my whole life and who will continue to teach and encourage me as I grow older; a teacher that I will always have.
It is that time of year again and I started my first day of school today. The scene I described was really how I did much of my school today. And as the winter comes on, the scene will change some. I will still be upon my bed, with everything the same, except I will be snuggled up in a warm crocheted blanked which my mom made me, with a cup of hot tea next to me and a candle or two burning upon my bed side table.
I hope everyone else’s school year will be as blessed as mine!

My kids don't usually get those types of responses!
They are more likely to hear " I wish I was homeschooled!"
I'm glad that you are satisfied with your mother's choice.
I am homeschooling because my children asked for it... for 2 years I told them no..... and this is now our 6th year at home.

This British school kids seem to be totally different if thats the case, whenever they hear that I'm homeschooled they regard me with envy and sigh,"I wish I was homeschooled," or,"I'm fed up of school."or ,"I wish I was you."

*sighs* I am starting to miss my schooling to be honest!
I went to public school till second grade and I would never go back if they drug me there! I like homeschooling so much better! No presure, no other kids around to distract you, and High Schools sound a bit frightening, to me at least being that I am so shy!

Ahhhh...that sounds so lovely.
It's funny, because most of the public-schooled people I meet wish they were homeschooled. They are especially jealous of me this year, since in our county public school starts August 12th this year!!! Isn't that sad? I don't start school until next week, so I am soaking up the last week of summer. But I am ready to start school again.
