Shiver Academy’s
Book of Virtues Project
The Project was started because of a misplaced reader. I pulled out my copy of William J. Bennett’s Book of Virtue and set my daughter to the task. BUT I really needed to work with her on comprehension and So I began creating bits and pieces to work with her study. I have since found the reader but we have put it away for the time being.
This project continued at the request of some of my readers. It has grown to be something way more than I ever envisioned. And I am excited to report that at the time of this posting I have had over 15,000 downloads of my project since I have posted the full download. That does not include the nearly 500 to 2000 downloads per individual unit (Depending on the unit of course!) Want to share this information?? Add a button to your blog or website!!
Thanks for stopping by and Checking out my Project. Unfortunately, this blog is no longer being updated . . . . PLEASE STOP BY THE NEW WEBSITE!! ~T8ermomma

I have found the Adventures from the Book of Virtues on Netflix streaming. The girls enjoy it and it’s a great supplement.

Thank you so much for this wonderful resource! We just completed unit 1 (self-discipline), and I love it. I can’t wait for unit 2 and the charity drive.

I am printing out the first 5 units for our homeschool. What a blessing to find this unit as I just recently got a copy of the book. My boys are looking forward to the unit and hoping to find / watch “Adventures from the Book of Virtues” to go along with it..

Sorry it took so long to get back to you!
I have looked for the Adventures from the Book of Virtues shows but I haven’t found them. They are no longer on the PBS site and I have no clue where else to look. If you find them with an online resource, please let me know so that we can post it on the new site . . .
PS Be sure to check out the new website: http://www.shiveracademy.com

I think it is . . . I am unfamiliar with that resource to be honest. I created this for my older kiddo and we haven’t done it yet with the younger ones–we’ll be starting it this fall.

What is “My own Book of Virtues”?
#13 by T8ermomma on November 20, 2010 - 11:26 am

My own Book of Virtues is a project that is within the Book of Virtues Study. The idea is for the kids to come up with stories, pictures, poetry, etc of their own (depending on age and ability of course) to show that they understand the theme of the unit. Such as Friendship–they would draw a picture of two kids playing or hugging; write a story about how someone learned to be a better friend, or write a poem on the need for friendship in their own life etc.
If you have any questions about it, please ask away!!
