Okay, just a quickie to give you all some great websites if you haven't seen them before.  If your kids love educational computer games, check these out:

If you haven't seen this, Highlights magazine has a great Book Club called “Which Way USA”.  Each month the child receives two state maps and corresponding activity books that teaches them all about that state, history, geography, etc.  My MIL subscribed us to it, and my son loves them!  I think it would be for grades 1st and up.  Some of the activities in the books are still a little hard for my kindergartener, so we're going to save these for next year.  Here's a link to sign up for the club:

Okay, just thought I'd share a few of my favorite websites.  I figured if I liked them, maybe someone else would, too!  I'll check back later to put in my “real” post for the day.  I'm so excited to share pics of my son's first lapbook!  Until then…

These sound super! Can’t wait to have some time to check them out! Had to let you know that our children also received the Which Way USA ‘subscription’ as a gift. We’ve used many of the set, but not all yet! A couple years ago we began to study each state as a regular activity. We’d get the little books from the library about each state and I’d read aloud a chapter or so at lunch. God would lead us down different paths to study about people, animals, places, events, etc. from that state a little more in depth. When I felt we’d completed the study, we’d have our own ‘State Dinner’ and gather everything we could think of relating to that state and pile it in the middle of the kitchen table. Oh we got so creative! Then we’d make all the food associated with that state that sounded yummy to us. I even bought a fabric panel that was a map of the US and that served as our tablecloth for each dinner. I can’t recall how many of these we did before it finally fizzled, but there were quite a few. Now our homeschool support group has initiated a yearly “One Nation Under God” dinner. Like an international dinner only with our 50 states. We participated for the first time this year studying North Carolina. My oldest daughter researched the Biltmore House, the other researched the tobacco industry, and my oldest son made some discoveries about Research Triangle Park. My 4 year old proudly held up our Andy Griffith DVD’s (that was enough!) Our Which Way map was the focal point of our project. You will have so much fun with those map/book sets!! They are worth Grandma’s investment!
