Welcome to my little corner of the beach in Southern California. I am married to one amazing man who loves me with a heart of Christ and who has blessed me to be a stay-at-home homeschool mom of three wonderful blessings. My heart is for homeschool ministry and helping others through encouragement. I've been homeschooling since the beginning and love it more and more every day.

I began my journey in homeschooling based on Bible scriptures found in Deuteronomy chapter 6:6-12 Homeschooling With Encouragement is dedicated to encourage the homeschool mom. I am the owner of a Yahoo group, monthly newsletter, two homeschool blogs, and the Weblink Education website.

Show and Tell - Rainbows

Show and Tell with Canadagirl

I'm standing in the kitchen making a homemade Mexican meal in celebration of the tortillas I made the day before...  when the phone rings.  My dad is on the phone.  He shares that he has just seen the most beautiful rainbow ever.  I run outside and look to the sky and there it was..   So BIG and CLOSE!  In fact, there were three all within one rainbow - but my husband was only able to capture one in this photo (they are hard to photograph).
Photobucket

My kids loved seeing them...  they ran up the street to see if they could touch the end of one of them.   It ended just a little ways from our house.  I've never seen one so close before.  Did you know that when a rainbow touches the ground that it illuminates everything it touches?  The trees, brush, and grounds glowed the colors of the rainbow.  Just beautiful.  I bet that is where they get the story of the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Anyway, soon all the neighbors were outside looking to the sky.  Seeing this, I though to myself  "Wow, God is finally getting some attention".  Isn't it something... all the wonderful things our Lord does on a day to day bases, but when he suddenly pops out a rainbow - people start to notice the creator.   It's just something, to me.  I will never take for granted the colors of the rainbow nor the glorious craftsmanship of His mighty work.

How beautiful. I love rainbows too. I can actually see 2 in your picture. I have never seen 3 at the same place before so I bet that was really cool too. And to see it so close to your house like that. Thanks for sharing it with us. Have a great day.

Very beautiful. IT must have been something to get so many people out door to see it. THREE! We see doubles a lot (remember, it rains a lot up here, and the sun peeks through, and we see a lot of rainbows), but I've never seen a triple! Thanks for sharing!

How special to have one so close! I think it has to do with how close you are to the water droplets that are doing the reflecting. Or something like that. Fun

You managed to get a couple of wonderful pictures!!! I bet it was even more impressive in real life - so many times I've taken pictures of rainbows and it's very hard to capture on film. Amazing that it was so close!! God's handiwork is awe-inspiring!

Blessings,
Kym
