No Photos To Share
Guess what? Remember my post about my piano? Well, this instrument is amazing!!! I have a story to share, but first if you have not read my post from Friday - click here. You see, I had my 94 year old piano teacher (also my grandmother) come over for a visit the other day. I wanted to show her my new piano. Being that she is the one who taught me everything I know and loved the fact that my walls will be filled with music again, I knew she would enjoy seeing it. Well, little did I know that her dementia would subside and the young piano teacher would come out shining. Do you know that she sat me down at my piano and gave me a lesson? Yep! I took out one of my favorite pieces that I'm stumbling over and had her work with me. She gave me helpful advice and a good lesson! I'm 40 years old, but I felt like I was 10 again! She gave me the confidence I needed.
It didn't stop there. My oldest son also got his turn. It was as if she had reverted back to being a young woman. She went right into the teacher mode and coached him through his music like a pro! She really helped him with some trouble spots. In fact, I feel inadequate in teaching around her - she is so experienced! My son also enjoyed his lesson (and he is 10).
Growing old is so hard to watch someone struggle through. As I mentioned, my grandmother has dementia. It steals her mind and I think it is horrible. This is why I'm so thankful that the Lord gave me this special day to have my grandmother back - even if it was for only an hour. She really was "alive" when we sat together at the piano. It was amazing. My only regret? No photos to share.
