Thanks for asking about the job situation and Colorado
I'm a firm believer that the Lord has a plan for everyone this earth. Through prayer and reading of the scriptures, you can find out what that plan/calling is for your life and get busy doing it. As a stay-at-home mom, I know that my calling is for my family. To homeschool is also part of that calling. I'm thankful for that gift the Lord has given me. As many know, I gave up a career in screen writing and teaching to be at home with my family. I don't miss the career at all and I know that is from the Lord because I loved what I did. For me, the choice was easy...
As for my tall, blond hair, blue eyed man... its much harder to give up what he does for an opportunity that doesn't guarantee a paycheck. As you know, while visiting Colorado my husband searched for new work only to find out that construction is tight at the moment. My husband doesn't swing a hammer or lay the foundation for commercial buildings, but he does travel job sites and over sees the production. Although he has found his niche in construction engineering, he would much rather dedicate his life to ministry - helping families (homeschool dads) draw closer together and towards the Lord. Maybe the two will overlap some day, but for now we'll have to wait and see. I'm thankful that the CA job pays the bills and keeps me at home with three blessings, but I will admit that it was disappointing to not find a job during the week we were there. However, we are still seeking, praying, and more determined than ever.
One reason we are ready to move is because our calling to "go" revolves around our vision for ministry. The town that the Lord has put on our hearts is perfect for the outreach in more ways than not. To minister to homeschool families can be such a blessing. To encourage a mom with material, opportunity, support, resources... and to help equip a father with the right tools to reach their children and wife... oh! It's exciting!!! Just talking to a few families while we were there, we could see that there is a need and huge crowd ready to be harvested. It will be an exciting day when we do get our moving papers!!! Keep us in prayer?
