Welcome to my little corner of the beach in Southern California. I am married to one amazing man who loves me with a heart of Christ and who has blessed me to be a stay-at-home homeschool mom of three wonderful blessings. My heart is for homeschool ministry and helping others through encouragement. I've been homeschooling since the beginning and love it more and more every day.

I began my journey in homeschooling based on Bible scriptures found in Deuteronomy chapter 6:6-12 Homeschooling With Encouragement is dedicated to encourage the homeschool mom. I am the owner of a Yahoo group, monthly newsletter, two homeschool blogs, and the Weblink Education website.

Please take your time and thumb through my past postings as well as the Ministry links sponsored on this blog.

Thanks for asking about the job situation and Colorado

I'm a firm believer that the Lord has a plan for everyone this earth.  Through prayer and reading of the scriptures, you can find out what that plan/calling is for your life and get busy doing it. As a stay-at-home mom, I know that my calling is for my family.  To homeschool is also part of that calling.   I'm thankful for that gift the Lord has given me.  As many know, I gave up a career in screen writing and teaching to be at home with my family.  I don't miss the career at all and I know that is from the Lord because I loved what I did.  For me, the choice was easy...

As for my tall, blond hair, blue eyed man...  its much harder to give up what he does for an opportunity that doesn't guarantee a paycheck.  As you know, while visiting Colorado my husband searched for new work only to find out that construction is tight at the moment.  My husband doesn't swing a hammer or lay the foundation for commercial buildings, but he does travel job sites and over sees the production.  Although he has found his niche in construction engineering, he would much rather dedicate his life to ministry - helping families (homeschool dads) draw closer together and towards the Lord.  Maybe the two will overlap some day, but for now we'll have to wait and see.  I'm thankful that the CA job pays the bills and keeps me at home with three blessings, but I will admit that it was disappointing to not find a job during the week we were there. However, we are still seeking, praying, and more determined than ever.

One reason we are ready to move is because our calling to "go" revolves around our vision for ministry.  The town that the Lord has put on our hearts is perfect for the outreach in more ways than not.  To minister to homeschool families can be such a blessing.  To encourage a mom with material, opportunity, support, resources...  and to help equip a father with the right tools to reach their children and wife...  oh!  It's exciting!!!  Just talking to a few families while we were there, we could see that there is a need and huge crowd ready to be harvested. It will be an exciting day when we do get our moving papers!!!  Keep us in prayer?

That is an awesome desire and goal. I do pray that it all works out for you all. I still think we need you all here in Idaho. ;) OK, just kidding, but it is a blessing you are willing to move to do what the Lord is leading you. I hope it all works out soon. :)

I am praying that God will lay out his plan in front of you as you need to take the steps. It is so exciting when you see how God is going to use you. The crazy part is waiting for the when, and perfect timing.
Blessings on your day!

Jul. 10, 2008 - Hi Val

First I am so excited for you and praying your outreach reaches those I love most.

As for Dave, I know the Biker Bar they have Bible Studies at some times is surrounded but currently still standing. The church is in the Precautionary Evac zone, as most of us are. As for his home I believe that is off of Coutolenc and that as been pretty much evacuated as well. So I am assuming they are not at home and some place safe. All of the areas I have mentioned are currently safe. As long as the wind stays away the Firefighters have a good handle on things. The inversion layer over the town is a blessing as it causes the fire to move slo, and a curse as it keeps us under such a thick cloud of smoke the helicopters and the planes can't fly and bombard the canyons.

If I see his secretary around I will ask her. She is sometimes in our fire chat room.

Our air quality was 375 today. We might as well be smoking a pack a day. And with California in a energy Flex state...we couldn't be hotter.

Most importantly, God has been doing miraculous stuff and when e have been told time and again the night winds would be 40 mph a handful of pastors stand at the edge of the canyon, blow the shofar and pray. They have not come yet!

We are ready , aware and blessed with an amazing community and an awesome God.

Just keep praying!
Because of Jesus, Bobbie

Jul. 11, 2008 - hi there

You've been so kind to visit my blog and I've been so bad at visiting! I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging again - it's been so busy!

I do appreciate your comments.

My husband is also in construction (electrician) and although the work has slowed down here somewhat - he is still keeping busy. I know it's so frustrating for husbands not to have the work they want.

Thanks again and keep visiting! I think I lost most my regular visitors through my neglect! :)

What a wonderful opportunity! We'll be praying for you. When you get a chance, could you stop by my blog and read Laura & Eric's story? Eric was just diagnosed with brain cancer and they need all the prayers they can get right now to see them through this.

Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband didn't find a "paying" job while you were there this time, but happy to hear that you are encouraged with the vision of ministry there. Praying with you.
